Layer on performance.
Cyclists are passionate about base layers. Bet everyone you know has a favorite, a go-to they'd prefer to have under their jersey. In their quest to make ever-better cycling clothing, Giordana has focused attention on that layer between your body and your jersey. The result: the Super Light Weight Sleeveless Base Layer.
They have taken the Dryarn fiber technology of their Over/Under base layer and gone a different direction, making something for the days when the choice is between nothing under a jersey and something light. In those conditions, the base layer needs to be ultra-thin, fit well, and wick like nobody's business.
To that end, this top has been made with a tubular knit (think socks), for better fit, has incorporated multiple zones in the weave, for just the right amount of protection, and has anti-bacterial properties built in so you can wear it all day and not have it attack your nostrils a few hours in.
The Giordana Super Light Weight Sleeveless Base Layer comes in White. There's light elastic at the arms and waist. Sizes run from Small to X-Large.

- Q & A
My trust has been shaken . . .
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: XXL
- Height: 6'4"
- Weight: 170lbs
When it comes to base-layers, I specifically buy Giordana. The mid-weight fit perfectly, so I just assumed that the light-weight would, too; but this style was 2" shorter at the hemline, plus it had a thicker layer across the chest. I ended up buying Catelli. Conclusion: I hope that the company doesn't conform the rest of their line to these measurements . If so, I will look elsewhere. I would never refer this product to anybody!!
My favorite base layer
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've used this base layer in a range of different temperatures (not just on hot days, as the description implies) and found it to always be comfortable. I usually use this anytime it's over about 50 degrees F (below that I'll use something more substantial), and have used it on 90-95 degree days as well. The description on the CC site really says it all - great wicking, great fit and no extra bulk. I have about 4 or 5 of these that get rotated through the laundry, and they've been good for about 2 years so far - with no signs of significant wear.
I wear a Large - am 6'4", about 170 lbs. The length of the base layer works well (it's not too short), and it's a nice fit without being suffocating.
Update - they're up to 3 - 3 1/2 years now, and still doing fine.
