My new favorite handlebar!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Height:
5' 11"
Weight:
180

I've tried way too many different handlebars on my two current bikes, but I'm glad I landed on this FSA Gradient bar in the 35mm clamp, 40mm rise. This bar is on my DH bike right now, replacing a OneUp Carbon. I had no complaints with the old bar, but I decided that I don't want to run the risk anymore with carbon bars at real DH/bike park speeds. The FSA has a shape similar to the OneUp, with those ovalized sections in the bend areas to give them a certain amount of flex or compliance. I can pretty confidently say that this works. It has the same precise feel in terms of steering and control, but I'm not getting any arm pump even on long laps. The bend angles looked to be more than what was claimed, but I found a roll position that feels really good. The center section between the bends is quite wide, so cutting them down may be an issue depending on how you position your brake/shifter clamps. I like my Code brakes quite a bit inboard so that the lever tips fall right under my index fingers, and after cutting these down to about 765mm, I was pretty close to the limit. At the current sale price, it undercuts even the OneUp Alloy bar, so that was what made me choose the FSA.
