Why We Like The Impact Pro Cycling Shoe

Five Ten was the first brand on the market with a sole that gripped like crazy to your flat pedals, seeing they used climbing-inspired Stealth rubber on the bottom of the original Impact Shoes for sticky traction. After varying redesigns addressing issues of overall durability, the Impact Pro Shoe is back to solidify Five Ten's dominance in the world of aggressive all-mountain and gravity disciplines with its stout and sturdy design, complete with Stealth rubber that originally made it famous among riders using flats.

If you're going to ride with flats, then this is the shoe to have, at least if you don't want to slip off your pedals at an inopportune moment, only to fly off your bike at high speeds or suffer a painful pedal shot to your shin. That's because the newest version of the Impact Pro is using a Stealth S1 outsole with traction bumps throughout to dig into your pedals without slipping, even if it's wet and muddy on the trail. The upper is reinforced too, with a Poron XRD foam toe cap taking the sting out of slamming your toes on a fall or bashing the front of the shoes into a sharp rock.

Not as Pro as I hoped.

I'm a size 8 but they were a bit small fitting. I have some all leather 510's which hurt my left foot so although these seemed marginally wider I didn't risk it. Ordered 8 1/2 but not here yet. The pro in the name led me to believe the uppers would compare to my older 510s but seemed clearly a lower quality.

Excellent quality, very stiff and excellent power

I was skeptical about 510 shoes. I initially wanted free rider pros but didn't have my size. Got the impact pros because I read some good reviews. I'm glad I got the impact pros because the pedals really stick to the shoes and have excellent grip. Most of all was the stiff sole which I love compared to my previous shoe which was way to flex. Alot of people say this shoe is heavy, however I found they were about the same weight as my previous shoe. While riding for about 2 hours I didn't notice the weight and found that I was less fatigued and feet were not sore. I guess because this shoe had better energy transfer from the pedal due to the stiffer sole. Very happy with my purchase. Now I know why so many use 510 mtb shoes.

Excellent shoes! Quality is top notch!

Used 510 years ago when I was consistently riding DH and XC. Took some time off and now back into riding and was glad to see 510 still around. The soles are just as good as I remember and the quality of the sneakers is top notch still.

Quality has gone downhill since they bought 510

Heel padding broke down after a couple uses. Also the laces snapped not long after.

Excellent for Downhill Mountain Biking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoe is very well made and performs very well . It provides excellent protection for your feet . My only issues are one it tends to fit tight but I was able to mitigate this by using high quality but thinner socks. Also it would be nice to have some bright color choices which unfortunately there are none offered . But otherwise overall an excellent shoe for downhill and enduro mountain biking. For cross country and trail it would be too heavy a shoe . Go with the lighter FiveTen models.

Not for wide feet

These shoes run very narrow in my opinion. And because of the design of the shoe, there is no room for movement. If you have even a slightly wide foot, I would avoid this shoe. Addtionally the laces are very cheap and the insole offers no support. Good idea, poor excecution.

Hope over time they feel better

Had to change insoles. Uppers are stiffer than original 5 tens. Harder to break in

Best MTB shoes I’ve owned yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time riding with them I hit some 40’+ jumps and the grip amazed me! My feet felt glued to my pedals. Amazing support as well. Very grateful they come in a size 15. Almost impossible to find shoes my size.
