I'm a huge fan of 2 in 1running shorts and when they have lots of pockets I'm typically sold. The pockets on these shorts are just the right size and placement for all the things I want to carry on a typical hour or two training run. The shorts also sit higher due to the extra-wide waistband. The inner liner is incredibly light to the point that I can barely feel it once I get going yet secure and supportive. The material is not what I was expecting, it is a very light almost knit nylon much like a thicker stocking, unlike most of my other shorts which typically are more spandex like. The outer shorts run very small. I have pretty thick thighs and these shorts are a bit snug on the bottom hem. So far I have noticed them while I've been running. If it gets annoying I might cut and sew a small notch in the hem for a bit more breathing room. My other shorts in my weekly rotation are: The North Face Flight Better Than Naked Long Haul Short Ultimate Direction Hydro Short New Balance 2 in 1 Nike dri-FIT 2 in 1 So far these are in the top two of my favorites behind my North Face shorts.

*Disclaimer* I am an employee of the brand, so take that as you will. With most 2-in-1 shorts with a compression-like tight built in, it seems the fabric is just a little too thick, or not breathable enough to really vent out and move moisture away from your legs, causing chaffing and discomfort issues. However, I do really think Dynafit nailed it with these ones. The tight is very thin and very soft, with plenty of breathability, ensuring that you never have that swampy feeling on your legs, and that you won't have any chaffing. The built in waist belt is snug and secure, meaning that even with a phone, keys, bottles, evergy gels, etc, it won't bounce or shift and cause even more hot spots. The shorts themselves are light, even with all the added features, and really don't feel much different weight wise than a normal pair of split shorts, making them comfortable to wear for even the longest of days. It is important to know that they do size a little bit smaller than some similar products. In almost every Dynafit pant/short, I go with a medium, however, in these I upped to a Large, and that gives a much more comfortable fit without feeling loose or baggy. If you are looking for a comfortable, lightweight trail running short that allows you to stay out longer without the need for a full pack/vest, or allows you to carry just a little extra on race day, this is definitely a good one to start with.
