The X1's tough nylon and polyester fabrics are treated with TPU for serious waterproofing. Even more impressive is the X-Tex waterproof and breathable membrane, a unique design that prevents condensation from building up inside your tent, keeping the walls dry, your sleeping bag drip free, and the fabric eminently breathable. The secret is activated carbon, which absorbs water vapor before it becomes droplets and transfers it quickly to the outer wall of the tent to keep the inner walls dry to the touch. If that's not breathable enough for you, there's a mesh panel on the door that can be opened to increase ventilation, along with a roof vent to let moisture escape upwards. Adjustable Dyneema webbing locks the poles in place and lets you batten down the hatches before it gets too windy, while aluminum alloy pegs keep your shelter from blowing away in the storm.
