Solid Hiking Boots
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 10
- Height:
- 5' 6"
- Weight:
- 150
Purchased the steam/daredevil boots. I'm a size 10 in all shoes and I would consider these true to size. The outer material is solid. No problems with rips, tears. Bought these boots mid summer 2022. Not bad pricing. Have been hiking in the snow - definitely waterproof. Feet were never cold or wet. Solid ground grip. Been on long walks with dogs and noticed not much arch support, if any. Not something I would have specifically looked for but I assumed that wouldn't be an issue. It's not a deal breaker but something I will take note of next time. I gave these shoes four stars for two reasons. One is the lack of arch support already mentioned. The second is the left boot. When removing my shoes, the inner sole lifts up and almost out with my foot. Seemingly not connected inside the sole area. More of an irritant but happens every time. I will say these are good boots and I will be purchasing the darker color also. I just need to figure out the arch/sole support. Lastly, I'll pass on one thing as an avid online shopper (thank you COVID) is I've noticed in general having purchased these in the summertime when conditions are summertime and then when winter arrives and the boots are out to the true consumer test, if you will, if there were any issues, the return window obviously has closed. Something I will try to recognize next time and actually with all my purchase in general no matter what store. :)

Great hiking shoes
Bought these as my first hiking boots for a trip to Sedona . Hiked everyday in sun, ice, and across several streams and these shoes were perfect . They were waterproof and had excellent grip .

You Can’t Go Wrong!
I was testing the “waterproof” feature of the shoe and I was so pleased! I walked in a stream near a waterfall and had absolutely no issues. It’s a very light weight and comfortable boot! I highly recommend it. I bought my boyfriend the men’s version for our future backpacking trips!

Super comfortable!
Comfortable and sporty looking. I didn’t even get blisters the first time I hiked in them. Took them on a muddy uphill trail and they worked great!

Not waterproof
These are not waterproof. No I did not walk in a river. Just walking a trail with wetness. Feet wet.

As advertised
These are true to size, comfortable, and have traction. I walk about four miles every morning on wooded trails that are muddy, covered in leaves, and sometimes uneven or slick and these have kept me confident. I only gave them four stars because they did give me blisters the first couple times and there is no arch support.

Surprised and disappointed
I have owned several of the higher top boots, this is the first lower ankle. Needless to say, I use them for work. And I have to admit, as the higher top boots have never hurt me, these where extremely uncomfortable. Ran a little small. And are more a flat foot. Truly disappointed.

Works as advertised
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a parent of five children, it's hard to find gear of high quality across the age spectrum that everyone likes. We are either hiking or outside daily. These shoes have over 10 miles on them since we received them a couple of weeks ago. The fit, functionality and sturdiness is the same across the range of sizes I purchased from a toddler's through my own. We have hiked flat land to Rocky Mountain peaks without a single complaint about feet or soreness... without any additional breaking in. They have traversed streams and played in lakes. I wish I could only take away a half star, as my only complaint was the lack of color options in stock. I know, it's picky. I carry at least one child in a pack at all times when on the trail as well. So, extra thumbs up for cushioning. It's working well.

Runs small
Unfortunately, i did not get to try these boots out. They were to small. I, actually, sized up, and they were still too small.
