Lightweight and grippy.
Despite all of our PBs, fat-burning dietary endeavors, and endless training, we can't all be like the Tarahumara. However, after an ego-crushing uphill jaunt, the Brooks Women's Mazama Trail Running Shoe can certainly make you feel as though you were born to run freely and effortlessly. Boasting the title of Brooks' lightest trail running shoe, the Mazama features a barely-noticeable, breathable, and supportive upper that's outfitted with a DWR treatment for protection against puddles and light precipitation.
To further bolster its title, the Mazama features a removable foam insole that allows you to customize your support should you require it, while the BioMoGo DNA midsole is highly adaptive and responsive, ensuring impact absorption from mile one all the way to mile 11. The Propulsion Plate cultivates a stable platform from which you propel power transmission, and is further supported by the full-length segmented Crash Pad which ultimately ensures a fast heel-to-toe transition so you can make the most of your stride. Additionally, a decoupled midfoot allows for an au-natural, flexible feeling when it comes to tackle rocky and technical terrain, and the rubber outsole is equal parts sticky and grippy, so you're able to put the pedal to the medal and go for that PB, even if you aren't a Tarahumara.

Sizing is a bit off I find?
Interesting reviews. I am normally a size nine women's and have worn brooks cascadias for my last two go rounds with runners....but with these I had to send them back and was actually contemplating going all the way down to an 8. I am ordering the 8.5...we will see! Look wonderful! Wish I ordered the right size from the start! Cant wait to cruise. They are super lightweight and I also have a narrow foot and high arch and they hug my feet perfectly!
my favorite trail runner
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 7

Excellent traction, no blisters and ready to run right out of the box. I use these for trail running or hiking. Not waterproof whatsoever but very breathable and my feet are not bothered if they get wet while running. My feet are technically a narrower medium width however I have a high arch and prefer a narrower shoe. This shoe is streamlined and super lightweight yet is constructed with a solid protection from rocks. Feels like I can lift up my feet easily and quickly move in all terrain. I am picky about my shoes, I don't like a lot of bells and whistles, but I need a goldilocks fit and this particular shoe works for me. I don't size up or down for my running shoes; I bought this shoe in my normal size 7 (my foot length just short of 24cm).
'Size up for wider feet
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: 9.5
- Height: 5'8"

Very nice shoes with a comfort level that you'd expect from Brooks. No extra bulk with these shoes, which is idea for trail running, and the bottoms have great grip. My true size is 8.5W and I wear a 9.5 in these because, as per normal with Brooks, they run a bit narrow. I wouldn't call the color pink--more of a fluorescent orange with a pink tinge. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.
