I bought this skirt in mountain fog... so pretty and flattering. My go to outfit in the winter is leggings under an athletic skirt, and this is definitely my new favorite. I originally bought it in a large based off of some of the reviews but returned it for a medium. The medium fits perfectly!

Great Hiking Skirt!

I love wearing this skirt over leggings to hike in the cold weather - my bum stays warm and I'm not self-conscious in my leggings. The zipper allows more movement/larger stride when necessary, and it stays put well. The stretchy side panels give it a nice fit, but allow for plenty of movement. And now for what no one wants to talk about very much - peeing on the trail. I thought it might be really tough to accomplish in this skirt, especially with leggings, but the fitted silhouette and full zipper actually made using a female urinary device really easy. I imagine that a skirt with a looser fit would not be as convenient in this aspect. I typically fall between a medium and large in bottoms/skirts, and the medium fit just right.

This skirt is amazing over tights. The Fossil color is very attractive and gives you a break from black. Make sure you pay attention to the waist sizing in the chart. I ordered a medium and large. I am keeping the large even though it is a tad too loose in the waist since I'm on low end of size range and the medium would have been too tight for actual athletic movement.

I am OBSESSED with this skirt! I had never tried a down skirt until this year, and I want to wear it everywhere now, The Stansbury skirt is super warm and adds a great layer of insulation over a pair of leggings. The silhouette is form fitting and flattering. I feel comfortable wearing this out for drinks, on walks, and even to the office on chilly days. The stretch fabric on the sides make it easy to move around in without riding up. I can wear small or mediums normally so I went with a Medium and it's a perfect fit!

I am 5'3", weigh 175 lbs, dress/pant size 10. I'm muscular and curvy. In most athletic wear I wear a medium in bottoms, but need an XL in this skirt. I can wear the L but in order for it to fit properly, the XL is better. I know other reviews said size up, but I'd go two sizes up if you are curvy in the hip! Other than that, generally good. Keeps the tushy warm while skiing and running in cold temps.

Love this skirt, but WAY overpriced...

I bought this skirt on sale for $60, which I consider to be a reasonable (NOT cheap) price for this skirt. $60 shouldn't be the sale price, it should be the MSRP price. I noticed after I bought it that the price shot up to $80. I'm sorry, but that's absurd and no one should pay that amount. It's not even like you're paying for a brand (If that's your thing). I hoped Backcountry would create a brand of reasonably-priced, good-quality items, but the price-gouging proves they only care about their bottom line-not that I'm surprised! Anyway, I'm 5'3", weigh between 110-118 lbs, depending upon the amount of pizza I've been consuming, & have a slim-athletic build & the XS fits great for me.

I'm obsessed with this skirt. I live in Denver and spend a lot of my time in the mountains. This is perfect for the morning dog walks, on the way to the ski hill and even better for apr°s. My rating is 4/5 because it does run on the short side. Girls with a booty, beware. My leggings of choice are Lululemon Aligns and they seem to pair fine.

The seam stitching has already ripped

This skirt is so cute and versatile but after having it for less than a month, the inner seam has already ripped. It's only gotten a few wears and I'm pretty disappointed in the quality. I was really looking forward to having a piece to run errands in this winter and I've shopped with backcountry multiple times before and never had this issue.
