Love these shoes, but please improve laces a bit
I own several pairs of the Rivera 2 (black, light blue, white, white/yellow and orange). My favorite ones are the light blue and white ones because the shoe laces are flat and easier to marathon tie. However, a small increase in lace length would be super appreciated. I keep two shoes in rotation for running and retire them at about 350 miles. They still feel okay, but I'm old and don't want to risk it, so they become walking shoes for a few months. For my feet, the width is perfect. I have a couple of toes that have been broken repeatedly and never healed to their original state. So the extra width at the toes is wonderful and I'm able to use my whole foot especially when doing balance exercises.

Not for me
I was excited to try Altra's for the wider toe box but I now have shin splints for the first time ever after wearing these. And yes, I did acclimate my feet to the zero drop.

Amazing responsive running shoe
When the escalante changed for the worse and I was unable to run in it I found the Rivera 2 and I am loving them. They are responsive and flexible with just the right cushioning. I was able to run and love it again. Unfortunately, version 3 is out and the shoe is going the way of the escalante, heavier, stiffer, thicker bottom. Altra please leave one shoe that is more minimal and flexible because that is what makes your company unique. Also please keep the larger toebed for toes to naturally splay when running. I sized up a half size in these.

I find these to be very similar to the original Altra Riveras, which I was hoping for. This is the only Altra shoe that fits my narrow foot. I’m usually a size 9.5-10, and took these in a 10. I like these for short distance runs, there is nice cushioning through the footbed. I would describe the support level as minimalist.

My Favorite Shoes but Disappointed
These are my favorite shoes for running, walking and every day comfort. I got my first pair over a year ago and loved them so much I ordered four more, but three of my new ones are coming unglued on the bottom after very little wear. I have already returned one, but would really like to find a glue to fix the others. I'm so disappointed in the quality of these shoes.

So far so good, but runs smalls
Just got them so I can't comment on their performance or durability, but they're very comfortable. I did end up going up a full size from my usual size - I think a half size up *might* have been sufficient, but it wasn't available. So I'd say it runs a half to full size small.

My favorite
Absolutely my favorite shoe. My orange was discontinued so I went with the next best color.

Disappointed. The original was awesome
The Original Rivera was the perfect fit. My favorite shoe. I purchased the next Rivera 2 and it's completely different. There is not structure in the foot bed so lateral movement is not supported. It seems cheaper too. Bring back the original Rivera. Don't mess with a good thing. I wish I could return them but it's too late.

Love these
So sad this color was discontinued. Love these and the color. I would buy them all over. Not a fan of the new release colors...darker than I prefer. But great shoes! So I bought the dusty teal in the discontinued rivera2.

Another disappointment
Wore the Torin until you came out with the 5. It just wasn't comfortable. Tried the Rivera and am very disappointed. The tops and almost transparent and stain easily. They always look a mess and the bottom treads wore out in a few months and all I use them for is walking. The concept is flawless for planter fasciitis and ball of foot pain but these sneakers are made with cheap materials and no longer eoeth the price. I' m changing brands.
