Why We Like The Highlands 3 Tent
The Alps Mountaineering Highlands 3 Tent provides 4-season protection so we can explore the world year-round. The taffeta fly and floor have PU coatings for weather resistance, and the walls have no-see-um mesh windows to bring in the breezes on warm summer evenings. Alps Mountaineering connected each aluminum pole with a weatherproof shock cord in order to help the tent stand strong against windy weather. The Tasmanian provides plenty of space for everyone, with nearly four feet of headspace, two doors, mesh storage pockets for keys and headlamps, and two large vestibules for all our gear. Alps Mountaineering also included a gear loft, aluminum stakes, guy lines, and repair swatches.

Easy set up
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Height:

- Weight:

Have not yet used this tent outdoors. But so easy for this arthritic 80 year old woman to set up! Spacious, a castle for one, comfy for 2, probably could actually sleep 3! Height is a bonus, can step out, no crawling! No mention of a footprint. Floor seems sturdy, but I will probably put a tarp beneath.

So I have yet to sleep in the tent as I had guests in town so they got to use my new gear and I used my crap walmart tent. I have set it up twice now though and it is easy to assemble. Only difficulty is getting the poles in the fly but not that hard. Nice fly, quality zippers. The wall to wall pockets are great. Guests said they were using them and they stayed taught and didnt pull inwards with items in the pockets. Fits the alps mountaineering double mattress well with extra room for bags. Double door and roof vents worked great for airflow in the heat. Roomy vestibules for storing shoes etc. Price is excellent for a quality tent that can extend camping beyond the summer months.

Money well spent

I just set it up and I?m very pleased. Aside from the weight, a little on the heavy side, with that said it is winter rated. Pros: walls are end to end pockets, really nice rain fly and tent separation, roomy, large vestibule (see photo). You don?t need the rain fly in summer, that will bring the weight down significantly. The stakes are legit! Zippers are a nice size (not so fine). Also has a cargo net on the ceiling (I love those). MAYBE THE PHOTOS DIDNT LOAD..??.. I tried
