Great shoes, but for a very specific runner.

Can be great shoes, but I think they are made for a very specific runner. Likely the ultra trail runner looking for very specific features like a really stout shoe, with higher stack height and lots of rocker. For the general description. These shoes are built very well, use great materials, construction is great, fairly lightweight, look very good. Now for the running details. They are a very high stack trail running shoe with lots of cushioning, but the cushioning is pretty firm in my opinion. They have lots of rocker, so you really have to like a lot of rocker. In my experience, higher rocker running shoes have firmer cushioning to enhance the rocker characteristics. I'm not a big fan of running shoes with lots of rocker. The tread pattern is very good and has a lot of grip. The shoes are built very stout and constructed so well that they are tanks. I'm sure they will last a long time and that is why they are for ultra running crowd. However, being built so stout, there is very little feel with these shoes. I'm sure they are great for hiking as well. Personally, the Adidas Trailrider shoes are the ones that were excellent for me. The Adidas Trailriders have more feel, more responsive cushioning, lower stack height, and wider platform. Not so much the shoes for me, but not to say they are not good because they just are for a specific trail runner looking for very specific trail running features that these have. I think mostly ultra trail runners will be more in tune with these.

Fancy, but not ideal

I've been running trails for many many years but have long been on the hunt for the perfect shoes. In recent years I've found that my feet are requiring a little more cushion so I thought these might be the key. Unfortunately no! I don't really understand these. Tons of heal cushion, BUT the design pushes you onto your toes where there is very little cushion! I can feel the floor on the balls of my feet and that's just walking in them in the house. Furthermore the rocker design makes them feel pretty unstable and I for one want a stable platform for agile footing on the trail.
