Keep it all in the same color.

The Colorful Belay Glasses are the same at Y & Y's Classic prism glasses, except they come in colors that match your harness, shoes, or rope. Prism glasses help belayers reduce neck strain by allowing them to look straight ahead and still see their climbers. Prism lenses provide a high-optical performance for a clear, non-reversed image. The sturdy stainless steel frame features flexible alloy inserts to fit any face shape, and there are adjustable pads at the nose and temple to stay secure even when you work up a sweat during gripping moments.

    Review for Clip Ups version

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So I got the Clip Up version of these guys so I'm just gonna leave a review for Y&Y's belay glasses quality in general.
These have really saved my neck as often has quite a sore neck after a day of climbing.
So first topic I want to cover is safety. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to see who I'm belaying when they're closer to the ground and the wall directly in front of me is of course something to keep an eye on. I'm happy to say with these my vision isn't totally obstructed. I can still see in front of me easily enough. With the clip ups for people with glasses or sunglasses there's also a cool carrying case + carabiner.
For what they are, I'm sad they're $80, but I also have no idea of production costs. The first couple times I used them I also had a naseu/vertigo esque feeling to get past. That's since gone away, but just a heads up.

    First Pair of Belay Glasses

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As the title mentions, this is my first pair of belay glasses.

They are a tight fit (for my 'UGE HEAD) and do not move around while wearing them. The lenses offer a good field of view and they are comfortable.

The one thing I would like to see them do differently is offer a more durable case. I am not a fan of the fold and stuff case they use currently.

Overall though, I have been pleased with how much less my neck aches while belaying!

    Almost 5 stars

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I prefer the fit of these over other belay glasses. I have a narrow face. They also fit my significant other well. He has a rounder, larger head and face. They don’t slip off the nose like our pervious pair did. They fit well over sunglasses. The only complaint is the prisms seem to magnify the climber. This is more disorienting than our other belay glasses that don’t magnify. We like the case and the extra nose pieces they provided.

    Be weary...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you are like me and tend to be tough on gear then this may not be the best for you.. they are a bit fragile, the prisms are not as wide as some other brands. There are better on the market.

    a true neck saver

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

these have saved my neck from getting kinky plenty of times! i highly recommend these for climbing both indoor and outdoor! fit well, work well however id recommend getting some chums with them.

    Unanswered Question

Can they be worn upside down so I can walk and chew gum at the same time?
