    The new gold standard.

As one of only 3 contact points on the bike, pedal selection can certainly be a personal thing. Think about the range of preferences people have in their bar tape. Some prefer thin for more road feel, while others choose a thicker tape to help absorb more vibration. And we're not even going to touch the saddle preference issue that runs the gamut when it comes to personal selection. TIME's Xpro 15 Pedals are for the connoisseur who demands the best from their equipment. Expensive, yes, but for a pedal that has such a range of adjustment, premium materials, and such light weight, we feel the asking price is justified.

The Xpro 15 carries over the hollow titanium axle and superlight carbon body of the Xpro 12, but adds CeramicSpeed bearings to the mix for the smoothest pedaling available allowing accelerations and spinning at a high cadence to be just that much easier. Further contributing to a smoother spin is TIME's low 13.5mm stack height which reduces rocking torque and places the foot closer to the pedal's spindle for more efficiency. The new Xpro platform increases the already oversized platform of 700mm² on the Xpresso line to an even more impressive 725mm². TIME claims that this is perhaps the best platform to weight ratio available. Other favorite features carrying over that we are glad are not lost are the Q-Factor and angular adjustment, and the 3-position adjustable carbon Flexion blade utilized instead of heavier, traditional metal springs. We've always loved the easy entry and release of the Iclic system and TIME redesigned it to allow for even more positive engagement. These pedals barely trouble the scales at 87.3 grams per pedal making them worthy of any top end build. One last piece of tech differentiating the Xpro from the Xpresso is the new lower plate that acts as a fairing to improve aerodynamics and provide protection for the carbon blade.

    • TIME's flagship road pedal is the refinement on a classic
    • New lower plate improves aerodynamics and protects the blade
    • Carbon Flexion blade has adjustable tension in 3 positions
    • Bioposition design reduces stack height to a low 13.5mm
    • The larger pedal platform adds even more stability
    • IClic cleats offer adjustable release angles
    • Ti spindle and carbon body lower weight, not durability
    • CeramicSpeed bearings offer the smoothest spinning

    Initial Impressions

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have not had a chance to ride these pedals. I have one race left this season and won't switch pedals before then. I did buy these to lighten my bike up a bit and for the ease of clipping in and out. I received these and took them out of the box. The pedals were packaged well and come in a styling box. I took them out of the bike and WOW, they are so light. Compared to my Dura Ace pedals, they are noticeably lighter. Much much lighter in fact and the bearings are absolutely smooth. They also look really good. I am happy with my choice and can't wait to get a season of racing in on these pedals!
