Designed by people who spend as much time skiing the Wasatch backcountry as they do at a desk, the Stoic aesthetic features clean, function-driven design that utilizes quality materials and burly construction techniques. Backcountry is proud to be the exclusive US distributor for Stoic product.  The stoic offering starts at skin level with close fitting base layers and extends out to durable hardshell jackets—with a few key gear items added to the mix. For base layers Stoic relies on two proven fabric technologies: merino-wool and its own Breathe Composite material. Merino is nature’s wonder fabric. It breathes, insulates even when wet, and naturally repels odors—making it perfect for next-to-skin layers. Stoic also uses a merino-synthetic blend for a line of performance socks ranging from knee-high ski socks to no-show socks for desert trail runs. The Breathe Composite material is made from a blend of nylon, polyester, and lycra for maximum moisture control, breathability, and improved range of motion.  For shoulder-season outerwear and winter mid-layers, there’s a collection of softshell and fleece jackets that feature industry-leading fabric technologies from Polartec. For warmth on chilly days check out versatile synthetic insulation pieces like the Luft Anorak. When it comes to water-shedding outerwear, Stoic employs face fabrics that boast high waterproof and breathability ratings. For instance, the Vaporshell Jacket sheds water while offering a remarkable 46,000 g/m breathability rating—exactly what you need to stay comfortable while hiking in rainy conditions.  In addition to its collection of jackets, shirts, and pants, Stoic has complemented its lineup with essential gear for camping. With the Templum 3-season tent, comfy Burls Sleeping Pad, and the micro-fleece Camp Pillow, you’ll be set for a comfortable night of rest before another big day in the backcountry. We made the Stoic Pet Backpack Carrier because our pugs, chihuahuas, and even some of our cats can't keep up as quickly as our goldens and border collies. Now they can enjoy trails, tours, and travels through the anti-scratch mesh walls with zippered access on every side except the back, which is completely padded for our comfort. Pets stay comfortable too since we added fleece inside the pack.
