    Treat your hoofs right.

If your feet were evolved for the cold, harsh temperatures of the tundra, then you wouldn't need the Sorel Women's Caribou Boots, which would be unfortunate, considering how classic and cozy these boots are. Being about as classic as they come, the Caribou is one of the original offerings in Sorel's line and remains largely unchanged to this day. Boasting a seam-sealed leather upper that's bolstered by a vulcanized rubber shell and a wool felt liner for reliable warmth, this boot is burly enough to withstand the harshest temperatures north of the 49th parallel and stylish enough to wear out for après drinks.

    • Sorel's original winter-proof boot designed for everyday wear
    • Seam-sealed leather upper is waterproof and durable
    • Vulcanized rubber shell increases durability
    • Removable wool blend liner ensures warmth in cold climates
    • Bonded felt frost plug insulates against ice and snow
    • Aggressive AeroTrac sole ensures traction on snowy surfaces
    • Sorel comfort rates this boot to -40F

    Pretty heavy, but super warm

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Picked these up for my fiance as she was in need of some winter boots that fit. She really likes the look of these and says they are super warm. They have a heavy duty sole with big lugs that will grip even the slickest of surfaces. That being said they are pretty heavy. But if warmth and durability are what you're looking for, this is the boot for you!

    Really Big Boots!

I was looking for a boot I could walk the dogs in during our cold Midwest winters, as well as snow activities like snowshoeing. These came today and was excited opening the box only to be disappointed as to how big they were. It’s really a massive boot fitting for a fireman or firewomen. I also had a hard time getting my foot inside due to the heavy padding and my high instep. They are also very heavy and cumbersome to walk in. So unfortunately I’ll have to return these.

      Perfect Winter Boot

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This boot is super warm, cozy, and cute! They keep my feet warm and dry all day out in the snow. I also LOVE the grey color. Sorrel snow boots might be the only snow boots you'll ever have to buy! So it's a great investment. :)

***Although, you WILL want to go with a half size down from your normal shoe size.

Warm and Cozy - Run Big

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I really loved these boots the moment I saw them and put them on. They are very functional and not over the top looking either. They do run big and unfortunately I will have to return mine as my foot was no exception to the rule. I am usually a 6.5 or 7 in shoes and boots so I ordered 7 as I thought the 6.5 would be too tight. I put on the 7 and my foot slid around too much to where they would not be very funcitoncal for me. The liner will stretch with time so sizing down would be best.

The positive size of these is that they feel incredibly warm and comfortable. They are slightly bigger in size but not too clunky. I have insanely cold feet and need a really warm boot but really didn't want to go with a hunting boot. This was a happy medium and I will be trying the 6.5 next. They are cute and functional!

I highly recommend them but be sure to check your foot measurements first for correct sizing.

      Stomp on!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Gave to the girlfriend, they run large, but she is loving them, in the past she has always had cold feet, no more! We are constantly hiking with the dogs in the snow and these are going to make everybody happier and the dogs are going to be able to stay out longer!

      Heavy Duty

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These boots are fashionable and functional. They are kinda clunky and heavy, but it also means that they keep my feet dry and warm. I usually wear a 3 in kids OR a 5 in womens. The 3 was far too small to fit my cozy socks. The 5 is just right.

Like everyone said, order one size down!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought this as a replacement pair, my previous ones lasted more than ten years of moderately heavy use so I'm happy. I'm usually a size 7.5/8, ordered a 7 for a snugger fit and to allow for the lining eventually packing out. I wear this shoveling or around town if I want something comfy to just step into. Not great for hiking.

      Warm! But size down.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought these for my wife. She usually wears a 5.5 in Sorel but purchased a 5 in these boots and she's happy that she sized down. They are super warm and have good traction. Made for burly adventures.

      Superb quality

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These boots are constructed well and are very durable. They are big boots, but that's exactly what I was looking for - a heavy duty winter boot. For all boots and casual shoes, I wear between 8.5 and 9 and it's always a toss up. After reading other reviews saying that the boots run large, I bought an 8.5. They fit perfectly, with or without thick socks. I really couldn't be happier with them. They are cute, comfortable, functional, and extremely warm!

      A Classic!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These boots are legit. They have an ultra rugged sole and are very well constructed. Probably the last pair of winter boots you'll ever need!
      >>> The boots run big so order a full size down.

      Love everything about these

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I’m new to park city and needed “real” winter boots. I love the way these look and perform. I wear them for everything from walking the dogs in the snow to fat biking.

      They fit true to size.

      Comfy and Cute

I work at a ski resort and use them everyday! They keep my feet warm and dry all day long. They are slightly on the bigger side but great for thicker socks. I recommend these durable good looking boots to anyone.

        They really do run big

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I read the reviews where other customers say to order down a size and I ordered down a 1/2 size. They were huge and looked like men's boots. I wear a size 9.5 normally. I ordered a size 9. I could honestly wear a size 8. They're wonderful boots and I really wanted to keep them!

        Super warm

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love these boots! They are toasty warm, seriously toasty. They keep me dry and fit really comfortably. They are quite bulky though, so if that isn't something you're into or like the style of, I would go for the slim caribou. I am usually not into bulkier looking boots, but these are still really stylish and a classic you just can't go wrong with.
They fit really big so I would size down! I usually wear a 7.5/8 and went with a 7 in these... probably could have gone with a 6.5 still comfortably though too.

What size do you recommend getting for an 8.5?

        Hi Erin,

I would always urge people to get the size that they normally wear here. The general consensus on these particular boots is that they run a half size large so you may want to go a little bit smaller.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

        Thanks,

        Unanswered Question

I have poor circulation in my feet (like a diabetic). My feet get extremely cold and hard to walk when they get cold. I want to know if these boots will help?

        Unanswered Question

        Hi,
Could you please advise how much would the shipping costs and taxes for the Caribou boots be to the United Kingdom?

do these have a pretty wide toe box? the fact that they run a large is really encouraging, but finding something workable is an absolute chore since I'm a completely flat-footed size 12 with a bunion ):

You're right, andrew; bunion-owners rejoice! I went ahead and bought a pair since winter's coming quickly and I didn't want to risk them being out of stock; not only are they wide enough to wear comfortably, but there's room for an orthotic as well if I find I need it!

I live in Boston, and the sidewalks get pretty icy, are these boots slip proof on cobblestones?

        Anny,

These would be a great boot. I wouldn't call any boot 100% slip proof since Boston can often have black ice, etc.

        Hi Anne,

Not sure if you've purchased your boots yet, but I have had a pair of Caribous for 4 years while living in Minneapolis. I needed something to protect my feet during brutal Minnesota winters, where I walked a lot. While I am totally happy with their warmth, the soles are definitely not slip proof. I actually had to invest in a pair of micro crampons for mixed snow/ice situations (the kind with little metal studs in the frame, not actual spikes). I bit the dust more than once on icy sidewalks before I got them. It's easy to think that because they are so bulky, they will protect you from the slippery stuff, but my experience has been to take the further precaution of the crampons.

Unrelated, but the reason I'm on the site searching for a new pair is that the outer rubber material started to crack where my toes bend, at the same point on both boots, almost like they had dry rot? Unfortunately Sorel customer service said that they could do nothing about the situation because the boots were over 3 years old, and alas the place that I purchased them from was not Backcountry, with its wonderful return policy. I'm caught, because they are incredibly warm. But be advised that the outer rubber has the potential to crack over time.

Hi there! Checking in to see if an item is on back order - looking to purchase a pair of the Shale grey boots in size 8.5! Any chance of getting them this season? Thanks!

Will you be getting more of these in the Shale/Black color? I need an 8.5!

        cvi105700559,

We do have a vendor order on the way to replenish our inventory. Shale/Stone 8.5 is part of that order. I would expect to see if available for purchase by the end of the month or beginning of February. Keep checking the page at least once a day.

Do these run small? I wear a size 11 or 11.5 and I want to make sure they are not too tight.

They run large!! I usually wear a 9 and ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly, even with a little bit of a thicker sock. Keep in mind with wear the liner will start to stretch out and will give you a little more space. I highly recommend you get the size down, the 9 would be huge on me.
