Why We Like The Salomon X Ultra 360 Edge GTX Shoe
The X Ultra 360 Edge GTX Shoe gives the popular Salomon X Ultra series an edgier look for 2024. The X Ultras have always impressed us with all the protection they pull off in such a lightweight package, and the 360 Edge continues that legacy with Salomon's advanced chassis adding foot support and ankle stability, abrasion-resistant mesh uppers with a protective toe cap, GORE-TEX waterproofing, and aggressive outsoles that dig into dirt, mud, loose rock, and snow for all-terrain traction. The Edge line adds modern aesthetics and fresh colorways to this technical hiking shoe to give them a little more flavor than the other X Ultras.

Great looking and comfortable shoe
I got these as a result of claiming the warranty for a pair of shoes I had bought last year which broke dissapointingly easily and quickly but I am much happier with this pair. The warranty process was so quick and easy that it has restored my faith in salomon

Better fit
These are more comfortable than the x ultra 04 that I had before these. Toe box is slightly wider for better fit and comfort.

epic sauce
bought these a couple weeks ago and they are the perfect blend for being able to use for just everyday general use for which having a comfortable and durable shoe was important but then also being able to use them on day hikes and still hold up asif they were a shoe built for hiking

Takes a while to break in
Took a good week of wear to break in. The uppers were stiff and creased very uncomfortably for a good while, and are still less comfortable than the X-Ultra 4s. But the tongue design is much better than that found on the X-Ultra, showing you to slip on the shoe very easily - just like the old design. A bigger range of colours would have been ideal.

Salomon shoes used to be amazing and I’ve had several pairs over the tears without any issues. These however are a huge step back. The pull on the laces broke almost immediately. Next to go was a lace eyelet within a week of use. Complete garbage.

Most durable shoes I got.
I buy the Ulta's and the Xa Pro 3d for years. They are durable and stick on rocks.

Light and very stable.
Wanted more than a trail runner but less than a boot. Great option.

I ended up returning these. I was looking for a sturdy shoe, not boot, for hiking in New England. These didn't seem all that sturdy compared to others, more like a stiffer trail running shoe. Also, I've had Salomon XA Pro...whatever model shoes since 2004 and Salomon seems to be making things wider and wider, including the X Ultra here. They fit well otherwise, but I had to sinch them up tight to fid width wise

Minimalist, practical
No bulky laces, great toe protection, waterproof! Sleek but rugged enough for trail.
