Why We Like The Salomon Shift Pro 90 Alpine Touring Boot
Salomon's Shift Pro series consists of backcountry ski boots built to accept standard tech or AT bindings as well as Salomon's newer Shift Bindings that require tech setups for uphill travel and AT setups for downhill. The Shift Pro 90 AT Touring Boot is the comfiest option in that series. Its 90 flex feels forgiving for lighter skiers and beginners learning to backcountry tour. Both the Custom Shell HD and My Custom Fit 3D liner are thermo-moldable so boot-fitters can fit the boot to your foot's shape for a customized feel. The Shift Pro also features a low-profile Surelock walk mechanism that goes in and out of ski mode with the flip of a switch.

Not the most comfortable

I have three pairs of Salamon boots so I purchased these confidently. Unfortunately they are not as comfortable as my other ones. The foot part fits very well and I like the slim metal buckles. However, after a couple of runs my shins hurt bad no matter how I adjust the strap and buckles. It could be because of the shape of the padding or not thick enough. It's frustrating that it is hard to know without actually skiing in them.

Painfully uncomfortable
I got these boots as a Christmas present and they are the most uncomfortable ski boots I have ever stepped into. I was fitted for them both before and after purchasing them, and was told by my local ski shop that I purchased the correct size. I’m not sure why, but the way they fit seems to completely restrict circulation to my feet, causing my toes to become painfully cold and numb within the first 15 minutes of strapping them on. I have skied in them over 20 times now hoping to “break them in” but have had no luck improving the comfort of the boots. Overall, would not recommend these boots to anyone.
