Why We Like The Cross Pro Trail Running Shoe

We wear the Salomon Cross Pro Trail Running Shoe for traction and support when soft dirt and sticky mud threaten to trip us on the trail. Salomon's Cross Pro is a stable trail running shoe with an adaptive fit that conforms to your foot shape for professional-level comfort. We love how the seamless upper features Salomon's Multi-Fit technology to customize the fit and maintain a solid foothold over time. Salomon made the upper water-resistant to handle wet weather, and the stretchy inner mesh maintains breathability in drier weather. Underfoot, an EnergyCell midsole maintains shock absorption, while Contagrip rubber gives the sole trail-specific traction.

I bought these shoes for my son. He loves them! He said they fit great! Very comfortable! Great quality! Awesome tread! They are true to size. He said they work great for all the hiking and hunting that he does. He highly recommends these shoes!

I am a Salomon junkie.. Speedcross 3,4,5 are my go to shoes. I was super excited to see the new Cross Pro. Love everything about the shoe, but it just doesn't fit my foot. The exoskeleton hits just in the wrong place and rubs the side of my foot. I would love to try my next race in these, but No Bueno...

New Go to for Steep Variable Trails

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have been doing more trail running during Covid. I run out in the pacific NW, generally doing 5-10 miles in the mountains. Melakwa lake has been my recent favorite area. I started with Nike Terra Kigers, Salomon speedcross v, now these. The Nike?s were more cross country. The speed cross was good but still lacking mid foot stability on the downhill. I looked for shoes with a mid foot strap, no luck. Then I heard about these. They have great aggressive treads, the best mid foot stability for the downhill, and still quite comfortable. The treads give good bite on the uphill. I hope Salomon continues this line. Not sure it?s possible, but I could still use more forefoot lateral stability. The inline stability is perfect. I could use a small section of the middle of the sole to be designed for grabbing rock edges and roots (not just more large knobs). Also, any color but black, they suck up sun. Best trail running shoes I?ve used for steeper mixed terrain.
