Runs large for "average" size baby

My son is almost 8 months old (height and weight listed from 6 months old appointment) and this thing is like a full foot longer than him. Its my only child so maybe I should anticipate some massive growth spurt by the time he is 1 (end of April) but hopefully not so then it might actually fit him next winter. Cute but wont know how great it is until it actually fits him.
