When everyone else is indoors, you go out.

Fish on in the Patagonia Men's SST Fishing Jacket, and haul in that once-in-a-lifetime trout while other anglers are sitting on the couch waiting for springtime. Patagonia's three-layer H2No performance fabric keeps you dry from cold November rain and frigid March snowmelt. This nylon double-ripstop fabric is rugged enough to put up with the abuse of the river and of the not-so-trodden trail leading back to your secret hole, and it's plenty breathable, so it'll still be comfortable even when that April sun starts poking through.

Patagonia equipped this baby with things like Reverse StretchCoat cuffs to keep water from making its way up your sleeve when you reach down to bring that fish to net and an articulated hood to give you secure-fit protection from the driving snow. A slew of pockets keep your fly boxes, nippers, hemostats, and beef jerky at the ready.

    Fish On

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

3-layer H2No® Performance Standard fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable. They are light weight and have a much softer feel vs goretex. The pocket layout is great for all your gear if you decided to leave your vest at home. Keeps you dry. Patagonia stands behind all there products. This jacket comes with a lifetime warranty.

    The best

I've had mine for 3 years wading the surf for speckled trout and redfish. During the NC fall and winter. It's held up like I wish everything could. Had 1 issue with a zipper sent it in they put new zippers on all pockets. Thinking bout getting another 1 because of sale. I'm 6'4" 200 lbs x large fits good with multiple layers and waders. They are worth every penny.

    SST Still the Best

I've had the SST and Simms G4 Pro. The SST is still the best and most elegantly and thoughtfully designed. Pocket and zipper structures are sensible and the StretchCoat cuffs are lifesavers when Winter steelheading or releasing with your arms under water and there is snow on the ground.

The G4 Pro is nice but about $200 overdesigned and more than it needs to be.

What is the purpose of the black horizontal ribbon above the hemostat holder/pocket attached to the jacket's left pocket? Is it to clamp hemostats tip-up instead of stowing them tip-down in the provided holder?
