Don't go it alone.
Sometimes it doesn't matter that you live in a crowded city—when you're waiting for that bus or trudging to work, it feels like you may as well be alone on a frozen mountaintop. Patagonia understands you, which is why they made the Lone Mountain Parka to help you feel less alone in your fight against winter weather. Built with an H2No shell to protect you against heavy snow everything else, this ultra-warm parka keeps you dry on long snowy commutes. Synthetic Thermogreen insulation insulation gives you reliable water-resistant warmth, so you can stay toasty when everything around you freezes over. An adjustable hood gives you added weather protection while microfleece-lined front pockets offer a warm place for hands to hide out while you wait navigate frozen sidewalks.

- Q & A
Great value for a tough parka
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
- Height: 5'10"
- Weight: 163lbs
As the previous reviewer mentioned, the hood fits very awkwardly making it a little uncomfortable for an extended period of time. With that said - in my case, I primarily use this as my commuter coat so I have it on for about 4 hours of my day. I always wear a hat so I do not use the hood for an extended period of time - sometimes never. Which is why the hood doesn't particularly bother me but during the times that I used it, it did get uncomfortable. This coat is waterproof and windproof. It's a little stiff to begin with but breaks quickly. This coat has kept me warm during the brisk Chicago winters ranging from -10 to 40 degrees. I usually wear a fleece vest underneath. It's a quality product that's designed beautifully without the big pockets in front. Minimalist, sleek design that can match any outfit for any occasion. If you can get it on sale (which I did) and if you aren't the type to use a hood as much for an extended period of time, I would highly recommend it.
Beautiful jacket w/ tiny collar and hood
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: small
- Height: 5'9"
- Weight: 150lbs
First off, I want to say that this is a beautiful and warm jacket. I've worn it in 20F weather and it kept my body nice and toasty. I'm 5'9, 150lbs, and I chose size small. The fit around my waist, chest and arms are great, however, the compliments stop there as I wish to express my extreme displeasure with the jacket's collar and hood. The collar is extremely tight so I almost never zip it up all the way. The hood is an even bigger disappointment as it's extremely small for anyone who has an average size neck and head. Whenever I use the hood, I have to crouch my neck and gets very uncomfortable, giving me neck cramps. I have no idea why Patagonia makes cuts like this. Because of this hood issue (and it's a very big issue), I do not recommend this product.
