Why We Like The Twister Sit-On-Top Kayak
One glance at the Old Town Twister Kayak and we can already tell that this sit-on-top is unique. Wide and low to the water with a hard rail at the waterline, this boat provides us with the ultimate in stability.
Intermediate and beginner paddlers will be able to bust through waves, navigate slow-moving rivers, and enjoy short paddles on flat water in the contoured, high-back seat well, and even store some basic gear in the stern tank well. Molded foot rests offer support to give the Twister a little juice, and a cup holder keeps your drink (the most important piece of gear you have) safe and secure.

Wish I could buy one now
I've owned the original Dimensions brand of the Twister for 25 years now. A gift from my parents when I was 9 or 10. I was given a single seater but we also had the tandem version. I grew up kayaking upwards of 2 miles one way from our family dock with my cousin and a neighbor kid almost every day in the summer and most of the colder months as well. I kayak the same routes with my own kids now and have yet to tip one of these kayaks over! Note, we live in coastal South Carolina and do all of our paddling on saltwater rivers with occasional strong currents. I frequently have people on docks flag me down and ask what kind of kayak I'm on, I once even had a boater circle back to a sandbar I was approaching to ask. I'm always disappointed to tell people it's been discontinued for a very long time. I've had 3 offers to buy my boats and always refuse because I love them. I've been trying to buy these updated Old Towne versions for about a year now, the cost to refurbish my single Typhoon by Dimensions is close in cost and would mean some time out of the water. I'd order one for myself and each of my two kids that are still at home if I could order directly from the site. I'd love to see more colors available too. My folks had a green and purple tie dye version in their shop back in the 90s, I wanted it bad.
