The Fresh Foam X Hierro V8 Trail Running Shoe is what we get when New Balance takes its best running technologies to the trail. My Awesome Shoes

No gusset a no-go for me
The shoe itself seemed fine for the brief period I tried it around the house but similar to a NB More (not the trail version) I tried before returning a few years ago was the exact same problem- no gusset, thus the tongue sliding towards the outside of the shoe on my foot. I have an older version of the Hierro with the tongue connected all along the one side. Love the shoes and sure I would have these also. Truly expected a trail show to have a gusseted tongue.

Feeling good
Perfect fit for me since I need a wide style. Feels good walking on them, soft color and i really like these sneakers.

Sole separation crib death
Sized a bit wider than the typical NB 4e last, but quite comfortable. However after 2 or so weeks of work at a grocery store, the over moulded sole is starting to separate with the shoe body. Nothing major yet, but it gives me little hope that these will last through the end of the year.

This shoe will not fit.
i have been wearing New Balance 12 1/2 2A (Yes, 2A) shoes for 25 year or so. I have a long foot with short toes. A New Balance person just told me that the most narrow in 12 1/2 in this shoe would be too wide. Currently New Balance only offer one pair type in size 12 1/2 2A.
