unpleasant smell
I am frustrated with this footpring (universal , regular, for hubba solo) as it has a very unpleasant odor. My entire appartments smalls from that. Can the manufacturer explain why? Also, the footprint is labeled “cancer and reproductive harm - p65Warnings.ca.gov”. Why? Is this (whatever Chemical) really needed for the function (risk benefit?). I also bought the hubba solo tent. It does hot carry that warning label.

Warm and dry
Just spent 6 nights in the Alaskan wilderness where it rained every day but one. The footprint kept the rain and waterlogged souls from soaking into the bottom of the tent.

not good
how you meant to set it as just a footprint without metal inserts? Had a hubba bubba from 20 years back and that had them gromets.. also for bikepacking Hubba tent it seems a bit small.

Universal Footprint
I think it would be better to have a footprint specific to the model tent that I have because the universal size isn't a perfect fit. I have a FreeLite 2 tent and the universal footprint is about 3inches small in width and length..

Universal footprint
No corner grommets, so it just sits under the tent unattached. Could have used a shower curtain!

Great light weight
Great light weight footprint but MSR needs to do a video or PDF on how to fold it up to fit in the integrated bag.

Works perfectly fine but I
Works perfectly fine but I do wish there were grommets at the corners. I tied knots in the stake cords but the tent poles slip out pretty easily anyways which makes it tough to set up if putting up the fly first

Useless
Useless footprint, no grommets to attach to the tent pole. Useless pocket that can collect water. This one was a total failure.

It's just not very universal.
Pro: Fabric, lightweight. Cons: poor attachment system. Attached envelope is annoying. Frustrated at first with how poorly it fit, but using a short loop of shock cord on each corner, tied through the nearest part of the webbing, not the end, I was able to make it workable. The loops Te held on when the fly is attached. The envelope? I cut it off.

Sub standard. Expeted much better from MSR.
As others have stated. - No grommets for attaching to the poles: tying knots in paracord is hardly an acceptable workaround for a premium tent. - Dimensions not perfectly tailored to specific tent sizes - Built-in pocket makes little sense. This is a minor issue in my opinion. Then again, having to resort to modifying your brand new tent with a pair of scissors just feels wrong. I own a lot of MSR gear and for the first time seriously considered replacing original piece of kit with something from Aliexpress.
