Reactor 2.5 Pot
It’s cold, windy, and time to refuel your body. MSR made the 2.5-liter Reactor Pot so you can whip up dinner for the whole group. Unclip the collapsible Talon handle, pull out the Reactor stove and eight-ounce fuel canister (both sold separately), and feed up to four people at once. It’s large enough to melt a whole mess of snow for up to five freeze-dried meals or your specialty backcountry meal.

Having this pot, and the
Having this pot, and the smaller one, was a game changer for where we cook, what, and how. You can live with the one smaller Reactor pot - but the universe opens up with two ! Also, way prefer the sturdier handle on this larger pot than the smaller on.

nice pot, could be slightly lighter
I own all three sizes of the pot, they all have their own uses and are each pretty fantastic. The marked maximum fill for the 1.0L pot is 0.5L, and for the 1.7L pot the marked maximum is 1.0L, while the 2.5L pot lacks a maximum fill marking. I regularly push above the max on the two smaller sizes which I think is safe as long as the flame is low (which should be better for efficiency anyway) and just keep a close eye on everything - obviously do that at your own risk though. My biggest gripe is that the 1.0L could probably shed quite a bit of mass with just a few tweaks. While I like the thick walls of the pot, I'd be happy to have them slightly thinner which would trade some durability for lighter weight. Additionally, the handle is chunky at 17g, not including the cleat on the pot that the handle attaches to or the little ball + cable latch. Removing all that extra hardware from the pot could probably remove 25g total, and then users could either choose a cozy+fabric handle arrangement like the WindBurner 1.0L has or bring a pot lifter (there are commercially available pot lifters on the market that weigh less than 4g). Perhaps MSR could produce an additional pot for the reactor stove, like a 0.8L UL that had those changes? That would be an excellent upgrade to an already fantastic system

Lid replacement impossible to find
The whole set works great. I just recently lost the lid and it is impossible to find a replacement. I don't want to repurchase the whole set since I'm missing the most inexpensive part of it. I hope they can fix this soon so I can keep using their set

Reactor
I love all of the tractor line cookware. Fastest heat hung and even cooking. Light too.

This pot/stove combo is the best way I know to cook food for 3 people in the wilderness.

Great stove
The reactor stove has always been the best in my view. Quick boil times and I just looks amazing. I, like other reviewers would like to see a ceramic option for the pan as i don’t like cooking with aluminium. I’d love to see a Skillet option too.

Well worth the money
By far the fastest stove for boiling water and comes with options on size of pot to fit the group.

Expensive but worth it for the quick boil times!
The reactor cooking system is fantastic. Boils fast and is easy to set up and use. Surprisingly it does not take much longer to boil water in the 2.5 liter pot over the 1 liter.

Always a winner
I've had several reactors over the years and there's a reason I keep buying another when I need to replace one. I've always used the 1.7L pot and loved it. I do wish MSR would make a pot adapter(like Jetboil does) to cook with a frying pan(or other standard pot) on the Reactor. I keep checking back to see if they've made it yet... That would make the Reactor the ultimate one-burner stove kit.
