Citadel Insulated Jacket - Men's

There are crag jackets, there are technical mountaineering jackets, and then there's the Mountain Equipment Citadel Insulated Men's Jacket, which takes a functional belay jacket and elevates it to a technical alpine piece with the addition of PrimaLoft One synthetic insulation and windproof and water-resistant DriLite Loft II shell. It gets cold dangling at an exposed belay station while your partner takes whipper after whipper, so the Citadel, in addition to its top-end insulation, is outfitted with EXL stretch stitching in the hood and back of the jacket, which minimizes dead space around the body and allows the insulation to loft more efficiently, increasing warmth with no extra weight or bulk. To stop any wind that sneaks through the outer layer, the inner hem and adjustable hood of the Citadel are lined with additional DriLite Loft fabric, and the front zipper is backed up with an insulated baffle that fights drafts and heat loss. There's also an interior mesh water bottle holder and zipped accessory pocket, because you'll be needing both hands to reach the summit and descend safely.
