Inadequate for Hiking or Climbing
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- Medium
- Height:
- 5' 5"
- Weight:
- 150
The thin nylon exterior is not treated at all and seems very delicate. The down insulation is thin (very little loft) and the design is not baffled. At MSR $500, I was hoping to use it for Aconcagua, but it's clearly inadequate for that. But being so heavy, it's not appropriate for a winter snowshoe or climb. It's more fashion than function.

Marmot plasma
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive about but a remake of a tried and true favorite. However, i was quite pleased when I received it. The exterior shell is pertex quantum, my absolute go to for light and middleweight parkas. The interior lining is not as soft as I remembered, but certainly not a deal breaker. I would probably add 2-4 oz. Of down. I love it and would likely buy another.

Feels very cheap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not as much down as expected, arms around the triceps are huge, doesn't feel very warm. Overall seems really cheap quality.

Disappointed classic revival
Horrible new design of an old classic. The sleeves have too much material in them.

Ugly and cheap
Thought I would like the feel and look of this revival, but underwhelming to say the least. Overpriced garbage, doesn't even compare to what these use to be. Friend and I like to climb mountains, and I was going to pick up a couple, but just not made like they use to. This brand has gone downhill too, next! Definitely do not recommend.

Disappointing revival of a classic
On the surface it's a pretty faithful recreation of the classic Plasma Parka. However, the decision to use polyester as the inside lining fabric and 85/15 duck down as the fill pretty much ruins this jacket for me. Compared to the light, puffy, warm, and high-quality feel of the original Plasma this new one feels cheap and nothing short of ordinary.
