I got these slings on sale. Maybe because of the poor reviews? Anyways, yeah they are not good for alpine draws or your ultralight speed record on the Eiger or whatever. But for the rest of us... You put a simple overhand in the middle of this thing and bounce on/totally rip on it; you can easily untie that overhand. Because they are bulky and robust. A 120 has been living on my harness for several years now. It's my goto for extending my rappel device and supplementing simple gear anchors. Anything that involves tying a knot in the middle and abrasion. Who wants to stare at a thin-piece of spectra with your ATC and full body weight bouncing down a rappel? Then spend time trying to untie the knot in that spectra? No way man! This functions like those crazy expensive cord-type slings but without the 12" bar tack that gets stuck in your clove hitch. It also came on the market 5 years earlier.
