Good out of the box, but...

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Okay biner out of the box, but as other reviews note, these things jam like crazy. The ball bearing system in the cross lock gate is a bit too complicated for its own good. I don't think that these are lubricated at the factory, because a dab of cam lube not only un-jammed it, but also gave it better action than it had out of the box. Taken it out a few times since without incident. Overall, if you get a crazy deal on these, I'd say it's worth it if you have a means of lubricating it. Otherwise, look elsewhere for a belay biner

Jams easily

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The belay retainer jammed after one day on sandstone. It got progressively harder to open until in it wouldn't at all. This made it impossible to open the gate.
