Expand your horizons.
You engage in way too many outdoor activities to be bound by a conventional, one-dimensional pack. That's why you need the Lowe Alpine Aeon 27L Backpack. The designers at Lowe Alpine point to this as one of their favorite creations ever, and it's not hard to see why. This light and versatile solution can handle long day hikes and light-and-fast overnighters with ease. Going trad climbing? It fits a rope and a rack with no problem. It's even up for a little light summer mountaineering, if the mood strikes you.
Whatever you're gearing up for, you can approach it with confidence knowing that the Aeon 27L's low-profile Flexion harness will support your load and distribute weight evenly for comfort through a wide range of activities. The Air-Contour back system is highly ventilated for cool comfort during grueling ascents and hot conditions. Capable of securing everything from trekking poles and ice axes to climbing helmets, the Multi-Lock Tool system ensures true multi-sport versatility. A stretch front pocket keeps your shell jacket close in case of sudden storms when you're exploring unpredictable mountains, and extremely durable, yet lightweight TriShield-coated nylon fabric wards off wet weather and withstands tears and abrasion for years of intense use.

- Q & A
You can really stuff quite a bit into the 27 liters of this pack.
Great design, keeps your pole tips securely mounted exactly where you want them to be.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I've been carrying a bit more gear recently so I've sold myself on the need for a more technical daypack with some additional volume and a nice harness to distribute the added weight. There are several really great reviews of this pack available on YouTube so I recommend taking a look at those. I received my shipment last week and I had this guy out on a couple shorter loops last weekend.
I don't have any local retailers that carry Lowe Alpine's line of gear but their reputation is very good and this pack lives up to that standard. Great quality throughout in both materials and attention to detail in their design. The Flexion harness is very minimalist and comfortable. The hip belt pockets are actually usable. The Air-Coutour back offers nice support and ventilation. But honestly, these are all things that I've come to expect from something in this price range. I was surprised by the MultiLock/Tip gripper system for trekking poles though, it's awesome.
Now for the only glaring con that kept me from clicking on the 5th star, I'm a small frame guy at 5'7"/140 with a 29.5" waist and this pack only comes in M/L and L/XL. I'm really pushing the lower limit of the dimensions on this harness. Although I'm willing to take care of that with a few minor modifications, others may not be.
As an added note, I reached out to Lowe Alpine to see how the ND 25 version that comes in size S/M differs from the M/L 27L. They stated that it has the exact same harness (shoulder straps and belt circumference) but with an inch shorter webbing on all of the straps. So there's that bit of info that I couldn't find anywhere else on the interwebs.
