Why We Like The Century MIPS Helmet
Lazer updates their Century Helmet to include MIPS technology, giving us every advantage in both aerodynamics and safety. The Century is so-called for the 100 years of technological advances that led to its design, with superior ventilation to help us stay cool as well as intelligent features to protect us out on the road.
An innovative Twistcap allows you to choose between aero advantage or greater ventilation, depending on the day and event. Lazer claims that the aero design of the Twistcap can save up to 11% of drag from ventilation, saving energy for the finishing sprint. At the back of the helmet, the Turnfit system provides both vertical and horizontal adjustment for the helmet to hone in the perfect fit, while the MIPS layer provides a slip plane to redirect rotational forces. To keep you visible during dawn and dusk rides, an integrated rear LED light enhances safety during those low-light conditions.

Most comfortable!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This isn't the lightest, most aero, most ventilated or flashiest helmet, but it disappears on my head in a way that no other helmet has. I have no idea if the aero features make me faster, but it's nice to be able to increase/decrease ventilation depending on the temperature. The finishing on the helmet screams quality. Two downsides: The built-in light is pretty weak, but it's a nice-to-have in case of emergency. Also, it's not great at holding on to sunglasses in the vents which is a bit of a pain. I thought I'd be annoyed by the sunglasses issue more, but the comfort keeps me reaching for this helmet on every road & gravel ride anyway.
