Bullet MIPS Helmet

It's really hard to improve upon Lazer's Bullet as it checks off everything we want in a helmet. It's fairly lightweight and with the Airslide in the up position, it's well-ventilated, keeping our heads cool on long summer rides. Move the Airslide down and the helmet, as proven in the wind tunnel, is as aero as any road lid out there, helping us go a little faster (or at least providing the placebo). And while we generally despise the look of aero helmets, there is something organic about this one that we actually like very much. Anyway, we were talking about how to improve the helmet, so why do we wear helmets in the first place? Safety, and by adding MIPS, Lazer does manage to improve upon the Bullet.

Lazer has crafted helmets for over 100 years and are always at the forefront of safety and technology. It partnered with the Swedish brand, MIPS, to provide an additional inner layer of protection on many of its helmets. MIPS, or Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, refers to the technology added to the helmet in the form of an inner basket that rotates slightly upon impact to absorb the brain-damaging rotational energy created in certain crashes. This helps disperse the sloshing forces that often accompany oblique impacts.

Back to performance features, Lazer improves aerodynamics on the rear of the helmet by employing a new adjustable fitting system called ATS. It's a new interpretation of the classic Turnfit system combining the dial system on the back of the head with the Rollsys head basket creating an even more effective retention system. The dial now controls a basket that grips a larger portion of your head and with a quick turn of the dial for a snug yet comfortable fit that keeps the helmet firmly in place.

The Bullet is fully compatible with Lazer's LifeBEAM technology to measure your heart rate and the Inclination Sensor to monitor your head position on the bike to further improve aerodynamics.
