    USA designed and assembled.

    When Lamson went to its drawing board to design the Liquid Reel, it started from scratch, aiming to create the very best sub-$100 reel possible. Assembled right beside Lamson's highest-priced reels in Boise, Idaho, the Liquid utilizes the very best virtues and advantages of the die-casting process. What this makes for is things like full-radiused compound curves and near zero-radius inside corners, things that a machining process just can't do. And for a precise fit and finish after the casting process, Lamson went back and machined critical areas, amplifying the best aspects of both processes.

    The result is the kind of reel that will bring in fish year after year, that will create memories of days spent out on the water with family and friends, and that you'll be able to hand down to your kids some day, all in an affordable reel that won't break the bank. When it comes to quality and USA-sourced materials and assembly in relation to cost, you'll have a hard time matching the Liquid Reel.

    Amazing for the price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    I don't think that this reel can be beat for the price. Its die cast but is still really nice. The drag is super smooth and will stop anything that you hook into.

    Great reel and great company

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    Assembled in the USA, awesome warranty, great drag, light weight, large arbor that takes in line like a boss....what more do you need?
    These reels are affordable and have all the features you want and the spare spools are a great price as well!

    Best entry reel on the market

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    Lamson makes incredible reels and this one is not an exception that reel. It is diecast but is solidly constructed and the drag is next level good and could stop a freight train (which is very important when you've got big fish peeling out line). The matte black finish is great on rivers where there are spooky trout that get skiddish when they see metallic reel light reflections. Also, it just looks awesome in the reel seat. Lamson is manufactured in good ole Idaho and has a lifetime warranty. Great reel to get started or even for your backup, it's definitely on par with much more expensive reels.

    Happy Hubby

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

    This is a great gift for the fly fisherman. My husband got this for christmas and his brother and father were already asking for one. lol
    Great quality! Comes in a little pouch to store it in and with a sticker so you can show everyone that you are rocking a Lamson reel!

    So Far So Good

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

    So far this is a pretty fancy line holder. I haven't had anything huge on it yet, but it has done a great job at holding its own. The finish is a rougher matte finish - not smooth. the drag works well and easily adjustable.

    Terri, check out the tech specs on this one. A
    1.5=4wt rod,
    2=6wt rod
    3.5=8wt
    4=10wt

    I sized up on this and got a 3.5 for my 6wt. I always size up on my reels, as do many people that I fish with. There are arguments to be had about balance etc, but I really think a #2 size for your 3 wt would be just fine.
