Cozy Cazsh Layer
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Large
I've been an Ibex loyalist for some time, and they've truly impressed me with this super warm layer.
The fit is true, I went with a large to layer beneath as well as for comfort (though I prefer a medium fit for baselayers). It does run a little long for me, falling just below my pant-waist (I have about an 18" torso). The length on this, and the Indie Hoodie, can be a bit long for usual wear, but I find it to be very comfortable for backpacking, as the cloth falls below the bottom of a hip-belt.
The snap-front design is super cozy, almost feeling like a thick neck warmer when all the way buttoned-up. I've already been so blown away by the warmth of this layer. It feels quite thick to the touch, but moves well and packs down nicely. It's also lighter in weight than my comparable layers. I was wearing it just around the house when it first arrived, and I got too hot after a few minutes and had to take it off.
My only critique is where the bottom of the snap-buttons fall. The bottom seam hits right above my baselayer tank/sports bra, catching itself on the top of that layer. I think a longer snap in the front would add comfort and avoid this issue.
I'd recommend this for super warm casual wear, or as a mid-layer for travel/expeditions.
