Why We Like The HOKA Speedgoat 5 GTX Spike Trail Running Shoe
Ice, snow, and slush can't slow us down when we're laced in the Speedgoat 5 GTX Spike Trail Running Shoe. HOKA equipped their trail-eating workhorse with metal teeth, so we can stride with confidence up and down winter's snow-packed switchbacks, while the multi-directional lugs ensure stabilizing traction through the muck of spring trails. As we stride along powder-coated terrain, the GORE-TEX membrane keeps our feet dry, the gusseted tongue blocks out debris and slush, and the rugged rubber toe cap protects our toes from bruising against hidden rocks.

No; except for hiking rugged trails.
When I ware these shoes, I sound like a horse on sidewalks! Only good for rugged trails. Not for everyday use.

I am buying this shoe for the second time
Excellent protection for a 78 yr old runner with arthritis in his feet. The firm platform with good gripping action is great for me.

4/5
I work long hours on my feet most the day and walk at least 6-8 miles a day. Was looking for a shoe with comfort and grip. The foam on these are not very giving and don't provide much cushion making it uncomfortable after long hours on my feet. They do have good grip and the gtx works great from keeping my feet dry in the rain. If you're looking for a shoe to wear for long hours on your feet I would not recommend this model but it would make for a good hiking/trail running shoe.

Great shoe for Rucking
Great looking shoe - plenty of cushion which is why I wear hokas. They fit a little small so I bought a size up. Spikes are noisy on pavement and hard floors. The Vibram sole should last better as I put some serious miles on these.

Comfort and control on the ice
Really great feel to these shoes, running on cross country trails in winter AK. Gortex and seams keep feet very dry. Absolutely great traction. Much more comfortable than I expected for gortex and spikes.

SG4 GTX w/Spikes
Should offer the spikes in the GTX mid model. Ran the trail w/a trace of snow and ankles and feet got wet.

Another HOKA game changer
I bought these Speedgoats because HOKA doesn't make a waterproof Stinson 7. I wanted to capture the magic the Gaviota 5's made in my life when out on the golf course in me middle of winter (a mid-state California winter but still cold and wet). The Stinson 7 looks ro be the trail version of the Gaviota 5 but not waterproof. So I bought the Speedgoat with spikes just for the gtx lining. Low expectations but I was amazed. Even though they sound like studded snow tires on dry pavement they grip the ground as I track my golf ball hither and yon. The laces release from a "heel lock lacing" easier than the Gaviotas. I don't know if the spikes add anything to the Speedgoat's grip on wer grass and dirt, but they make my feet feel great after a round.

First time with Spikes
I bought these for midwestern winter. I haven't used 'em yet.

Best golf shoes in over 50 years. Courses allow them
I love hookers, and decided to look into whether they had golf shoes. I was shocked that they did, and ordered them. When they arrived, it was just in time for my member guest golf tournament. When the pro heard the metal clicks walking across pavement, there was concerned about how almost no courses allow old metal spikes. These are constructed in a way that does not harm greens or grass.
