Faulty Inflatable Pad

I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
5' 10"

The idea of an integrated sleeping pad really intrigued me, so I took the plunge and purchased the Insulated Cot 1. Problem: the cot failed to self-inflate even after 24 hours leaving the inflation port open (and deflation port closed). I was able to inflate it, with some effort, using a Sea-to-Summit inflation bag. Left it overnight to allow the foam to expand, then deflated the pad and tried the self-inflation routine again. Nope, didn't fill up after another full 24 hours. I tried pressing on the inflation valve, as shown on the image next to the valve. That ended up dislodging the valve flap, which disappeared inside the mat. That's not the performance I expected from a $500 piece of camping gear. Thankfully, the Backcountry rep (Samuel E.) I chatted with did a wonderful job arranging an exchange that's supposed to arrive in time for an upcoming trip. I'll refine my review after testing out the replacement. Fingers crossed, 'cuz this bit of gear could be a game changer........or not.
