great little day hike bag
This has been a great day hike bag for me. At 16 L, it is perfect for a short day hike. I can even load it with a lightened version of the 10 essentials (e.g., one of those flimsy emergency bivies instead of a full tent or robust tarp for shelter), though having those, a full water bladder, and several snacks is probably about the maximum capacity for the bag. The front stash pocket is great for stuffing a thin rain jacket, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. I have folding trekking poles which take up more space width wise than telescoping ones, so I put one in one water bottle pocket and secure the other in the trekking pole loop. I wish it had two of these - one on each side - but it seems it is common to only see one on backpacks. I also like the sunglass keeper on the shoulder strap for securing my sunglasses when walking through forested parts of hikes. Love the color too!

I love is the robust waist belt. 4/5 stars because I wish it were slightly bigger.
Too small. I probably should have gotten the men’s version that is better designed for my broad shoulders as well as has slightly more capacity. Otherwise love the bag! And use it daily. Waist belt is uniquely robust for a small size pack which I love. Pockets are conveniently placed and useful.

Great day pack
The separate hydration zipper, organization of pockets, comfort, and quality is outstanding.

Best pack for day hiking and bikepacking
I looked for many years for a good hiking daypack. I I wanted one that was comfortable and had good pockets. The Maya 16 was perfect size. I can wear it for hours. Most recently I started using if for bikepacking. It is perfect. When bikepacking I am biking sometimes 10-12 hours a day and this pack is so comfortable. It holds up well. I have used it a lot over the past five years and you wouldn't know it. It is ready for many more adventures.

Zipper broke before first use
Such a bummer, the pack is overall solid but one of the main zippers broke immediately, before I even took it out. If the zippers break and it's tough to manage getting in and out of pack, it's a huge draw back for me, regardless of the inside components. Expected more for Gregory!

Perfect size for a daypack!
This backpack seems to have everything I need for my hiking trip in the Swiss Alps in about a month. It’s a good size to use as a daypack for this trip, to carry layers, cell phone, water bottles & hiking poles. I think I’m going to move it!

Lightweight and functional. This is just an excellent pack for stuffing in skins, an extra layer, water and snacks.

Gregory rocks
This size and shape of this handy little pack makes it perfect for those all day hikes on the coast here in Oregon. LOVE this. Gregory rocks the design and I love all the pockets, as well as the fact that I can put in a water reservoir vs packing bottles, which tend to fall out on the trail. Great for anyone, really, except large men with large appetites and thirst.

Maya 16 and Maya 12 Hydration/Daypacks
I have been an outdoor enthusiast (skiing, hiking, camping, mountaineering, sea kayaking) for 60 years and I think I'm a pretty good judge of good gear. I bought the Maya 16 pack because of the pockets in the hip belt, but this is the best pack I have ever owned. It is incredible value for the money. I got it for BC skiing and I like it so much I bought a Maya 12 for summer use. I love both these packs and will continue to purchase Gregory products. -Pack is very comfortable, hugs the body, doesn't slop around even when full. Shoulder straps and hip belt are well-padded and extremely well-designed ergonomically. Such a pleasure to wear a pack that doesn't hurt! -Lots and lots of pockets are intuitive to pack, and the entire pack has amazingly large capacity that holds my cold-weather extras, plus a first-aid kit, plus food and a small thermos. -Lots of adjustment points: top & bottom of shoulder straps, torso length, outside pockets cinch down securely. -Zippers are plentiful, well-designed and easy to use; I really like the pulls which are easy to grasp even with gloves on. -Hydration tube system is easy to thread and three retainers on the shoulder straps hold the tube in place better than any pack I've ever used.

I'm 4 ft 10 inches tall with 14 inch torso. I'm having trouble finding a daypack to replace one I've had for decades that was made for petite women. I can't find one now made for petite women. Are the Maya 10 and 16 packs comfortable for someone my size?

Will this ever be restocked? Would be nice if you have a restock notification on your website so I could sign up for an email alert.
