Water Filtration Cup

Press your way to purity with the Grayl Water Filtration Cup. With the ease and simplicity of a coffee press, it filters 99.99% of bacteria from up to 16 ounces of water in as little as 15 seconds. Consisting of inner and outer stainless steel cups, a threaded filter attachment attaches to the base of the inner cup, and one simply fills the outer cup, inserts the inner, and applies equal pressure. There is no pumping involved, no accessory tubing, no multiple moving parts. The 3-part filter mechanism uses a combination of ultra-powdered activated carbon, which sifts out more impurities than standard granulated or block carbon, a charged-ion mesh, which acts essentially like a magnet to pull pathogens out of the fluid, and an anti-microbial agent to inhibit the growth between uses of bacteria, fungus, mold and mildew. The standard G3+ Filter will remove common contaminants like lead and arsenic, many industrial and pharmaceutical chemicals, and impurities like sulfur and chlorine. And, most importantly, it filters 99.99% of bacteria and 99.94% of protozoa, and lasts up to 300 uses, for 40 gallons of clean, clear water. 

An optional G3+ Purifier (sold separately) is available for more suspect water sources, and uses the same materials and mechanism, only with another layer of filter media that acts to remove 99.999% of bacteria, protozoa, and viruses. With the additional media, the Purifier takes 30 seconds to process 16 ounces. While the outer cup is a simple container, the inner is lined with food-grade silicone and fitted both with the filter mechanism and sealed with a pair of silicone gaskets, at the filter and the lid. The lid itself features a three-position semicircular closure mechanism that locks open with a button-catch for drinking, vertically for easier removal, and down on the opposite side for a secure, drip-free closure.
