Versatile
I bought the backpack and some coordinating pockets over the past few months. At first, I was concerned that the capacity would not hold my standard field gear and was pleasantly surprised with the versatility of the pack. The shoulder straps and hip belt are well padded and comfortable too!

Just shy of perfect
I have had this pack for almost 2 years now and it's one of my favorites. The durability is top notch, flexibility, with the add on pockets and pouches is also excellent. It only has a few things to "knock it" from 5 to 4 stars. First a mesh front pocket would be more appreciated. Being able to stuff rain gear, a tarp etc, without fear of slipping or snagging would be better. There are now rather durable stretch materials that would be ideal with the purpose of this pack. Next weight. I totally understand the pack weighs as much as it does for the reasons I love it, the sustainable body material and wood frame but perhaps a spring steel frame would provide similar load capacity with a slightly lighter weight, maybe even a slightly less burly denier on the body? Then the bottom zipper. It doesn't make a lot of sense, and adds weight. If there was a divider between a bottom compartment (for a sleeping bag say) that Zipper makes sense. The problem is there is no such divider so the zipper is something I have never used. The only other suggestion would be loops such as the sides and lid have. This way shock cord could be attached so a CCF pad, or other light item, could be attached underneath. Overall one of the best, most comfortable, packs I have ever owned, it could just use some tweaks.

If you want reliable...
This pack is bombproof, I'm used to my old Berghaus munro, a military favourite, the Singi is much more technical but I can see it lasting a lifetime. The back system is microadjustable and easy to use. I have two pouches and a gear holder, wish the accessory straps that come with the pouches (one per pouch) were available separately as they are real useful. Hip belt padding os great, hip pockets not quite big enough for a mobile phone unfortunately but I'm all for making my phone harder to get to when I'm outdoors. Expensive but it won't need replacing in my lifetime.

Reliable Pack
As a former infantry Marine I’m fairly familiar with different packs and load outs. This is one of the best in terms of durability and functionality. I’ve done a few hikes with this pack so far and I still can’t believe how comfortably it rides. Most of the time I forget it is even there. Maneuvering through thick brush, climbing over or ducking under obstacles, this pack sits tight to your back and is slim enough to not snag on anything even with the attached gear pockets. The ability to have a hydration bladder is a nice touch as well and the birch pack frame not only looks nice but gives good structure to the pack that I’d argue beats out any plastic frame out there.
