Hiking the Great Smokey Mountains
Cork grips kept my hands dry, free from blistering. Lower grips great on up hill climbs. Poles break down into small form factor for easy stowing when not needed. Well constructed, great value!

Compact, light, and strong
I bought these to fold up and fit into the exterior pack sleeves for alpine ridge ascents and these poles are just what I was looking for. Lighter and quieter when planted than my old poles, the main benefit is they fold up very compact and can be put away so as not to be a snag hazard when scrambling on class 3-4 rock ascents where both hands are needed. Far superior to poles that just telescope down and are mounted onto the exterior of the pack, which can be a serious snag hazard, especially when down climbing.

2nd Broken set I've seen
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The locking mechanism decided to stop popping up one day, only after a few uses. Have tried to fix but it seems that something has really gone wrong. Saw another of the same poles at the used REI shop with the same issue. I have submitted for return at this point. Consider another pole if you don't want to be caught out like me with a heavy pack to haul.

A word of warning! Button can break!
These poles are absolutely great, until they break... As a couple of other reviewers already have noted, the little button that locks the pole in its extended position clearly has a weak spot in its construction. It can break, and that will render the pole useless. It has now happened to me twice. First time during a hike in the Scandinavian mountains, after only a couple of days' use. Not good. I managed to fix it with a piece of steel wire so I could continue. I got a new pair through the dealer, but now it has happened again. This time on a shorter hike, where I needed them to pitch my tent. The button broke on one pole, and on the other one it got jammed inside the pole. Both poles broken, flabbiest tent pitch ever. Black Diamond, this really needs to be fixed!

Great Compact Trekking Poles
Brought these for their first voyage in the Sierras of CA for a 8-mile hike. Overall, very comfortable, lightweight and felt strong. I like that they can be very compact at times. Plan to use them for recreation as well as Search and Rescue.

So Far So Good
Nice and durable. No issues with the lock like some have described. Easy to assemble and break down. I like the plastic interchangeable tips that come with it. They’ve come in and handy and were a nice surprise.

Pursuit FLZ Trekking Poles
These poles are just what I need as I have a bad knee and they help especially with the downhill hiking. I like the weight of them and how well they fold up and the extra baskets for winter.
