Why We Like The Distance Tent with Adapter
The Black Diamond Distance Tent with Adapter weighs less than two pounds and packs smaller than a water bottles so ultralight backpackers and minimalist thru-hikers can take it anywhere. This 2-person, 3-season tent's nonfreestanding design includes a DAC pole that adapts to accommodate Black Diamond's trekking poles for a simple setup, even in windy conditions. While packable and ultralight, the high-tenacity fabric boasts improved strength that doesn't stretch when it gets wet. There are vents at the peak and foot to cross-ventilate and amplify airflow. Black Diamond reinforced the guylines with Dyneema to ensure long-lasting durability.

Mr.
I really love the packability of this single wall tent. It condenses more than I like, but it is surprisingly sturdy in storm force gales. I recently put it to the test in a storm in Greenland. I was nearly certain the weather would rip it to shreds, but by morning everything was in place, nothing was damaged, and I stayed warm and dry.

Gets so wet
I have tried using this tent multiple times. Once when it was raining out and once when it was dry. The inside gets soaking wet in both situations. The morning dew completely gets inside or the condensation from your warmth. Your stuff and yourself will end up soaked. I hate this tent and I spent so much money on it.

Nice bivi tent
Very good as a bivouac tent. Ingenious and minimalist design. Super light. We sleep two people, comfortably. The only thing I would add is the possibility of closing the ventilation, with Velcro or something like that. To prevent dirt (or snow) from entering when the wind blows

Light weight tent
Light weight tent using trekking poles. Larger than a Nalgene bottle, about the size of a lightweight summer sleeping bag. Still am improvement in size and weight than a standard tent

Awesome tent
This tent is super light, has plenty of room for two people, and stays fairly dry when it’s damp out. I highly recommend buying adjustable trekking poles to use with this tent, that way you can get the length just right to keep it taut. Only issue I had with the tent is that when I woke up one of the poles had fallen over. Maybe I didn’t set it in the ground securely enough.

Lightweight and waterproof
I have really been enjoying this tent, i have used it on 6 trips some being overnighters and some being 6 and 7 days long and have fallen in love with trekking pole tents. i really enjoy how light weight it is and how it uses poles i already would be packing. i came into this tent suspecting a real bad problem with the condensation and if i had it fully zipped i could see that being an issue but i have treated it more like a spacious bivy instead of a tent. i do recommend if you are going to be using it in high moisture or multi day hikes to use a waterproof sleeping bag cover to prevent your sleeping bag from touching the bottom small foot area of the tent as that was the only time i had any problems with condensation. i also recommend using a tarp or poncho to make a covered area over the door so that you can have the door open when there is high moisture. but with all that being said i have used it in snowy fall conditions, heavy rain and sleeping by a waterfall and know that i can depend on this shelter to keep me dry and out of the wind even without the tarp or sleeping bag cover and just remember to bring something to wipe down the sidewalls before bed just incase

I used this tent on a 12-day, 120 mile hike/camping trip at Philmont Scout Ranch. It was perfect. Setup and take-down took under five minutes. It was spacious enough for one person, probably not two. It handled high winds and rain very well. The only challenge I experienced was condensation on the inside when the outside temp dropped below the dewpoint.

Treat it like a bivy
Big fan of the Z poles, so I picked this up. Used it on several multi day hikes now (WCT being the wettest) and It is ok. The weight and speed of set up is amazing, but condensation is impossible to keep out (no matter how you face it into the wind). I started to appreciate it more once I started treating it like a bivy bag. It weighs as much as a bivy and you have to manage/expect condensation like a bivy. Now I combine this with a silk tarp to create a awning for gear and towl to wipe the moisture on the walls.

Roomy, light!
I'm used to bivvy's so this is light like they are but with sooo much more room! Bivvy's are single wall too, so nothing I'm not used to here and this has way better ventilation than a bivvy. They work well with my BD Pure Carbon ski poles.
