In giddy preparation for the first fresh tracks of winter, we created the Spruces Print Merino Baselayer Bottom. We gave this midweight baselayer a unique print for fun style, as well as a blend of wool and nylon to offer up a performance feel that's both durable and soft. Merino wool is an over-achiever, actively regulating body temperature, wicking moisture, and fighting odors to help us work and play in the fresh snow.

Really want to like this bottom but...
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- S,M
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 154
I thought the material was great! I loved the pattern/design. But the fit was just awful. I tried on two different sizes (S &M) and they both fit identical. Same length, same waist. I can handle the legs being a bit short, but the waist/upper area fit like it was designed backwards. The front was too long and the upper back too short. So basically one star for design, one star for material and nothing else. TL;DR It doesn't run small or big. The shape/fit is really bad.

Nice Bottoms
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Med
- Height:
- 6' 1"
- Weight:
- 165
I agree with the other review, the material is really nice, the bottoms are very warm, quality is good, but they ride pretty high on the leg, which may be okay depending on use. I bought them for skiing and hiking and I personally don't like my base layer ending down at the ankle bone, so I'm cool with the length, others may not be. I'm 6'1" 165 lbs, and the medium hit my leg about 5-6 inches above the ankle bone, so like the lower 1/3 of your shin isn't covered. My ski socks are nearly knee high and I don't like fabric down deep in the boot, so perfect design for my use, but the picture of their model.... the dude is either 5'3" or they stretched the bottoms just for the pic because there's no way they end that far down the leg on most people.

Nice material but odd sizing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- M
- Weight:
- 175
As the title says, the material feels awesome and seems durable but the sizing is a bit wonky. I'm 6' 0" and wear an inseam of 30-32" and ordered a M. These fit me like capris and go to about mid-calf. Aside from that quirk, they're great. Not a huge issue for skiing/snowboarding since boots/socks fill the gap, but wouldn't be ideal for some activities.
