Poor construction

Some of the interior seams did not have sturdy finishes, namely at the wrists. I can imagine that an area that gets so much agitation would quickly fray and deteriorate. Additionally, I didn't have a lot of faith in the longevity of the shoulder seams. The fabric itself is not terribly soft, and appears to be dyed a color vs. woven in the color. This really shows up when in any spot that is pulled over figure - like over the bust or at the armpit - as the white under-color shows/appears thin. While the fabric could very well hold-up, I imagine it would start to look very worn out very quickly. Pass for me.

This base layer top as well as the bottoms are very comfortable. That said, they run small. I sized up to a medium and they fit great.

Who made this sizing?

I got this with the intention of wearing while touring. The fabric is buttery soft and overall a super warm top, even though I still layer it over a thin merino turtleneck. I've worn this basically every time I've gone touring this winter and have been really impressed with the material in terms of warmth, moisture wicking, and temperature regulation. Also the print - SUPER cute! My issue with this shirt really lies in sizing. I'm 5'7', a 36D and 180 ish pounds and I was sized into a 2XL. That being said, the shirt fits great! So for my curvier, big boobed ladies out there.. size up by like 1 or 2 sizes I kid you not. It's taken a lot to not take size changes personally but for comfort and not feeling like you need to be pulling your shirt constantly SIZE UP. IF you're a trie 2XL I'd say look elsewhere. Will update with a photo if I get one... so far has been to cold to snag :) Lastly - Backcountry.com gave me this product and all opinions are my own.

Bought these for winter outdoor activities but tried them out on a long road trip. They were very warm and extremely comfortable. When the weather dipped down to the 20s, I didn?t want to take them off for bedtime and just wore them! They do not smell however they did pick up my perfume scent and hold onto it so that makes me concerned for less pleasant smells in the future. Highly recommend!

Great Baselayer Top
- Familiarity:

I was given this product to try on behalf of backcountry and this is my honest opinion. The Baselayer fits snug but has plenty of mobility especially in the arms. As a climber, mobility is everything, the thumb holes are a very friendly addition so you don?t get the dreaded bunched up sleeves. The shirt does wick moisture but perhaps just needs fine tuning down the road in the fabric. It felt as if it took a little longer for moisture to wick away so keep this in mind. Keeping this Baselayer in your pack to change into at the top of your climb/route would be ideal. The thickness of the material is sure to keep you warm on the descent. Overall I would recommend this shirt to a friend/ fellow climber.

This base layer crew looks great and works well to keep you warm. I liked the cool and dark winter aesthetic of the Tahoe Geo Top. The colors are as pictured and have stayed vibrant after washes and some serious adventuring. The seams are smooth and barely noticeable, and the fit is like a second skin. I did have to order a size up from what I usually wear in women’s sizes due to this tight fit. The material is durable and worked well for me bouldering and hiking in Alabama Hills and Mt. Whitney in November. The material really took a beating when I was climbing and I’m glad it held up so well. The material dried quickly which is important since I sweat a lot and I pack light. It’s great feature if you don’t want to carry a lot of clothes on a trip. I easily could add or take off layers depending on my elevation. It was great by itself on a cool desert day or under a vest or down jacket in the Sierras. The top moves well and stays in place and I can’t wait to wear it on some trail runs. I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my opinion.

Feature-filled Synthetic Baselayers

I am really excited about the new Lomond Baselayer Crew and Bottoms. They're a stylish, synthetic base layer set with next-level attention to detail, both in the construction and style. I love the off-set seams and notice in general how smooth the seams feel as a first layer against my skin when I'm wearing a pack while ski touring. At their current price you can't beat them. My one qualm is that they run a little small. I'm 5'6" and weigh 130 lbs, and am always a small. I bought these in a small and found them to be tighter than I'd like, even for "next-to-skin" fit. I exchanged them for a size up and couldn't be happier!
