You can never be too warm.
Save the Spyder Women's Alia Jacket for the ski season's coldest days. Jam-packed with 3M Thinsulate Platinum insulation, the Alia brings the heat to battle off frigid temperatures, and the insulation is silkier than standard insulations for a more luxurious feel. Spyder also equipped the Alia with an Xt laminate for wet-weather protection and a Spylon+ DWR coating to shed water off the shell, and taped critical seams keep water from seeping into places most likely to let water in.
The Alia also features a stretch powder skirt that snaps back for groomer days, and you can remove the hood for sunny-yet-brisk days. Internal stretch cuffs give a cozy way to seal out cold drafts, and hook-and-loop external cuffs further secure the sleeves from nasty weather. Spyder added a drawcord at the hem to keep the bad weather at bay.

fun and warm all purpose jacket
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 4
I'll admit that I bought this jacket for only one reason: the color (vampire). I just love the color. But it turns out that the jacket has other things going for it. Most notably, it keeps me toasty warm and dry. I've skied with mine a few times but it's actually spent more time walking the dog, snowshoeing and doing other random outdoor winter activities. And every time I put it on, the color makes me smile.
is the color death means black?
The "Depth" color is going to be a Dark Grey.
