    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Plusses for these earbuds are that the sound is pretty good, the range is decent (you can wander away from your phone and not lose sound immediately) and connecting is a snap. On the downside, these don't seem to have a functional mic as advertised -- at least I've never been able to figure out how to get it to work. Maybe I should have read the directions before throwing them out lol

    Freedom of Music

These are my first wireless headphones and after months of use I still cannot get over the feeling of freedom that comes from not being tied to a cord. Sound quality is excellent and battery life seems to be as advertised.

      Decent Headphones

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these to use at work for 8 hour shift walking/running, and have used them for about two weeks. I tend to have small ears so I used the provided smaller rubber bud and it fits well. It blocks sound well enough and has a firm fit even when pulled out just slightly. I have to pull it out because I found the size of the stock of the bud tends to hurt my ears after several hours of use when pushed in all the way.

Marketed with a 6-hour battery but these are never less than 1/3 battery left after 8 hour shift. And once the low battery signal begins I tend to get at least another 30 mins out of the buds. This could also be because I keep them on lowest volume but even lowest is plenty loud enough even with loud machines around me, and the sound quality is still really good with those machines running. It does tend to be a tad base heavy, but i think most people like that.

I also run with them, and because the battery is on the back it tends to slide back a bit, but the cords have an adjustable clip to keep the wires together which prevents it sliding off. They also tend to dangle and swing when not in my ears, which i dislike, and the provided "cord management" method of unthreading them and drooping them down the back is a hassle for me, so I just leave them in the shaped rubber.

All in all I like them, just not when the buds are out. If you need to take out the buds, might as well take off the set.

Buds stay in place well, Long Battery, Wire clip, Good sound, Good connectivity, Low sound transmit through wires.

Can slip off when running, Cords dangle/swing when not in use.

      Pretty cool bluetooth earbuds!

I have had zero issues with these and have been using the for over a year. They connect easily to my MacBook Pro and have a good wireless range. I use them at the gym as well as walking the dog. They never fall out and I like the flex collar so that they stay around my neck when I take one or both out. Sound is good I just wish there was a little more bass.

      Durable Comfortable

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My Husband uses these for work. He's a delivery driver and is constantly slinging packages of all sizes, and hands are always full. These earphones always stay put, and never get in his way. Virtually waterproof as they stay working even while he delivers in the rain too.. Just bought another one as a back-up, but it's been through the Holiday rush with no issues. Very happy with my purchase!

      Your ears will love these!

I have had these for a while and they're still going strong. I'm always trying new headphones and earbuds since I listen to music almost 24/7 and these are one of my favorites. Thinking about getting a new pair because why no?!

      extreme bummer

I had them for less that 2 months and the sound already went out. It has lost all depth and produces a scracthy noise. I only used these at work so I was very gentle on them. I know that skull candy has a warranty but having to contact them so soon is a pain in the ass.

        Neat for the price!

These little buds are great for workouts or just tuning out that coworker who always wants to chat. I love that I'm not tied into anything anymore and the sound quality is pretty on par with a $60 par of ear buds.

        Wireless is better

Great headphones, no issues connecting. Can walk about 15-20 ft away from device. Great for those iphone people who don't believe in cords. Stays put relatively well.

        Music in Your Ears

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Skullcandy Smokin'€™ Buds 2 Wireless ear buds offer Bluetooth connectivity and a 6 hour battery life. A handy in line control allows you to adjust volume, advance or go back to a song, and answer your phone. The flexible collar conforms nicely to the back of your neck and even has notches in it that allow you to adjust the length of the cord to the ear buds. Want the cords shorter and out of your way? No problem. One unique feature, of the ear buds, is the ability to remove the low profile collar if you choose to do so.

To in line control has three buttons. A +, -, and the Skullcandy logo, which doubles as the power on/off and the answer call/hangup button. To power on you hold down the button and a light on the collar turns blue. Syncing to my phone was easy. After syncing on my iphone, it showed the battery life on my screen. Sound was surprisingly good for ear buds. It was clear and the bass actually sounded like bass but they are still ear buds so don'€™t expect over the ear noise canceling quality.

Comfort was decent but so far I have yet to use them for extended periods of time. Honestly, when I’m out riding, hiking, or skiing I prefer to not listen to music. I like hearing the sounds around me, my chain shifting, tires rolling in the dirt, or bears rumbling around in the bushes. However, these will work well for the days at the gym, walking around town, or listening to a podcast when waiting for a meeting, and so forth.

So far the collar has stayed put and there is not much movement when jumping or running around. I'€™ve been playing with the cord length and found that anytime you shorten them and use the notches in the collar, the cords form little loops. They have not caused a problem snagging on anything but the could potentially interfere with helmet straps or catch on a backpack.

I did have an issue attempting to switch the earbuds from my phone to my wife's and back again. I contacted Skullcandy and they never ran into that problem and instantly sent out a new set. Top notch customer service just adds to their product and customers. No problem with the new set.

This was my first foray into wireless headphones. I was nervous, ha. They work great, easy to connect and disconnect. Sound is awesome, couldnt be happier.

If you have any questions, shoot me an email. I'd love to be your gear consultant!

Alisa, I have gotten mine to work in Air Plane mode. I am using an HTC and I go into airplane mode, then pull up the Bluetooth app and just turn that on. Blue Tooth stays on and I am able to connect to the phone while every other communication is shut down. Could be different for every phone but, that is how it has worked for me.

        Should've got two!

Pros: -Comfortable, you will forget your wearing them and won™t notice you were after taking them off.

-Great sound, no loss in sound quality that I could tell.

-Battery life is great for evening use.

-Durability, made of strong materials designed for active lifestyle

-Great Bluetooth range, up to about 1000 ft

        - The remote control set up is very intuitive and user friendly.

        -Excellent price

-Would like a bigger battery life option for full day activities

-More color options would be a nice touch.

        -Not compact when stored

These headphones pleasantly surprised me with how comfortable they fit and feel. The removable Flex-Collar first worried me when I saw it thinking it would be bulky or annoying to have on my neck. But that ended up not being the case at all. The flex collar gave me just enough friction on my neck to keep it in place but not too much to cause irritation during excessive movement. I found myself multiple times forgetting I was wearing it leaving my fiance with the duty of reminding me that earphones are not needed on date nights. The earbuds Off-Axis angled design have fit my ears very nice making putting them in and keeping them in an easy and comfortable experience. The overall design is built for comfort during physical activity. The earbuds rest about 9 and ½ inches from the ends of the Flex-Collar giving you plenty of slack for freedom of head movement. If you find that this slack to be annoying the S-Clip can be used to tighten it under your chin by clipping the cords together. I€'ve found the S-Clip very useful when I've worn the headphones without the Flex-Collar. Overall its a beautifully designed headphone that is built comfort in physical activity.

I'm impressed with the overall quality of the materials used in these headphones. The cords are made of a durable rubber that reminds me of a heavy duty rubber band but without the elasticity. The connections between the cords and the earphones are very sturdy making me comfortable with yanking on the cord to pull the earphones out or when removing the Flex-Collar. Because of the materials used in these headphones I can toss and stuff them anywhere and not worry about damaging them. With a lifetime warranty you can tell Skull Candy has confidence behind these headphones and it shows in its materials.

The Bluetooth capability is outstanding, my first interaction with Bluetooth many years ago irritated me to the point where I swore to never spend the money on Bluetooth again. I finally gave them another try with these and I am so glad I did. The connectivity is so intuitive I never had a problem with my devices picking up the headphones presence. I use them the most with my new Samsung S7 smartphone and the two work perfectly together. After connecting them the first time my phone had it on quick connect. Where all I had to do was turn on the Bluetooth on my phone then press and hold the skull candy icon button for 3 seconds waiting for the tone confirmation in the headphone confirming connection. The connection range is excellent as well. I live in a 765 sq ft apartment and I could have my phone on the charger and be listening to music while I clean and do chores around my whole apartment without loss in connection.

This is my new cant live without product! The ability to store my phone in my gym bag or hiking backpack and be able to control and listen to music has given me the opportunity to lose myself into my music free of distractions. The freedom the wireless headphones offer has made using the elliptical at the gym a care free adventure. Rather than the occasional death trap tripping hazard resulting in the launching of my expensive smart phone from my pocket making my last thoughts before I smash my face into oblivion is which kidney I can sell to afford a new phone. Thank you smoking buds for making corded headphones feel like dial up internet and flip phones. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has let corded headphones keep you from listening to music.

        Should've got two!

        Love them

These are great for working out. I've used them for hiking, running, the gym, even while doing yoga at home. The sound is excellent & setup is easy. Charge lasts a long time. I have many times in the past damaged regular headphones while working out by catching them on my hand & accidentally ripping one side out of my ear. That is a non issue with the smokin buds 2. The fit is great too, they don't budge while working out.
