I have worn Salomon Speedcross 3s for literally thousands of miles thru hiking in a size 12. The Sense in a 12 felt too big and didn’t fit as well underfoot. The Sense has a slightly wider toe box than the Speedcross which I liked, although I never had issues in the Speedcross (I have narrow toes). Ended up buying Saucony Peregrine 10s which are working well so far (in a 12).

A great choice for faster training and racing on varied terrain. Given its comparatively lower platform and stack height, expected this to be a shorter-distance shoe. Yet it stays comfortable and stable over 20-plus milers on Rocky Mountain trails - a considerable advantage because of its light weight. Grip is excellent wet or dry, drains well, upper doesnât heat up. Except in winter this has become my go-to shoe and will be my pick in an upcoming 50-miler at high altitude.

I've been on 3 runs and 3 walks with these shoes- totaling about 40 miles on flat terrain. 80% on compacted dirt, and the rest on concrete. So far, I'm very happy with them. I was a little dubious about the speed lace, but it's actually proven to be quite good. -And if it ends up breaking, I see no reason why I can't put a regular shoe lace in it's place. My only reasons for not giving 5 stars is that the soles are already showing slight signs of wear, and dust seems to stick to them more than my previous shoes. I could see myself buying these again, but time will tell...
