The Kanzo Adventure takes your notions of what roads are suitable for bikes and instead challenges you to find one that you can't ride with this capable steed. Paired with SRAM's Rival 1 drivetrain and 45mm tires, this Kanzo Adventure begs to be taken off familiar roads and onto that overgrown two-track to see where it may lead. The carbon frame lightens the load as you chase daylight up and over passes, while the endurance-minded geometry ensures your comfort on all-day or multi-day escapades.
Comfort is key on long gravel rides, as is nimble handling to make it through the odd rock garden mid-road. The Kanzo's construction and geometry make it agile for railing around switchback turns and eagerly surges forward when pouring the power into the pedals at the base of a climb. This is in part to its pressfit bottom bracket, high modulus carbon fiber frame and fork, and tapered steerer tube yielding a lightweight build that is stiff both laterally and torsionally. That carbon layup also works to smooth road vibrations for a compliant, rather than harsh, ride, and the asymmetrical fork keeps the bike tracking correctly on winding descents and under heavy braking.
Going out on a loaded weekend bikepacking adventure with the Kanzo truly lets its more relaxed geometry and less aggressive stack and reach really shine, as it orients you in a more comfortable body position on those long days spent in the saddle on a loaded bike. Ridley made sure to add options for carrying capacity on the Kanzo, with mounting points on the fork and downtube for bottle or bag cages.
The Kanzo boasts clearance for up to 47mm tires for the chunkiest roads, and Ridley specs this model with the sweetspot 45mm Maxxis Ramblers for less resistance while maintaining comfort and capable handling over mixed terrain. Furthermore, you get the precise and durable shifting of SRAM's Rival 1x HRD drivetrain and disc brakes, which blend the simplicity of a one-by drivetrain with a wide gear range and the confidence-inspiring power and modulation of hydraulic disc brakes for an impressively well-rounded ride.
