- Q & A
Too small, not durable
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The specs say this holds 12 oz, but the most you can fit in it with the sleeve on is 9 oz (I measured). To fill it completely you have to take the handle and sleeve off, which is inconvenient at home and definitely won't happen during a race. It also failed in less than a year of use. There's a hard plastic stiffener in the soft bottle, between two layers of the bottle. The stiffener wore through both layers and the bottle started leaking under the sleeve.
Despite the small volume, it's comfortable and in the summer that I had it I used it all the time. It worked great for short or medium length runs in hot weather, when you want to carry some water but don't need any snacks. I just can't recommend it because it broke so soon.
No zero rating!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Bought thinking it would be perfect for my shorter runs...promptly tossed the receipt because, well, itself a Nathan. Immediately realized there is no filling the bottle with the sleeve on, so took the sleeve off, filled, and tried to put sleeve back on while the lid leaked all over the place.
Finally get the sleeve on with half a bottle of water gone and take a drink... seriously the most foul thing I have ever tasted! I actually threw up from the taste feeling it caused - and yes I washed the bottle. Not sure what is in the plastic, but have washed numerous times, soaked the nozzle in water, vinegar, and hot/cold alternating. Get nauseous every time I try! This was a terrible waste of 40 bucks that I will never get back! What a waste!!!!
