Awesome Pack Fly
Got this to replace the regular MR pack fly and stop the waterfall down the back. Worked like a charm. The bungee system that goes around the back is much stronger than the regular fly and there is no buckle strap to hold it on. I love it, because it's a much tighter to the pack and easier to deploy. Did about 6 hours in the constant rain, 30mph winds, and temps in the 40s. Bag was bone dry except for the back panel midsection that rain got blown in by the wind. Love it!

Ideal piece of gear
Absolute game changer. Hood keeps rain, snow and sleet from going down between pack and back. In a lighter rain didn’t even need to put on other rain gear, of course my clothes did get a little damp. Heavier rain with my rain gear on and this hooded pack cover I was able to continue my hunt until the rain stopped. Excellent addition to gear.

Nice
Haven’t used yet, but packs small, looks durable, I think will work well and excited to not have rain running down my back

Great potential
Purchased this product based off lessons learned from last year's goat hunt on Kodiac Island, AK. Will return and update the performance after this years attempt early September. Fit is great on my pack and I think it will work well. More to follow.

A Great Idea
I'm very pleased with the innovative design and overall build quality of this pack fly which addresses the weak point found in most pack weatherproofing systems: the unprotected back. I hiked for several hours in a steady rain across wind-whipped mountain slopes with the S/M size covering my TerraFrame 65 sufficiently stuffed and it served well. The hood does come with an elastic, "shock-cord" type drawstring with cord locks and a stiff insert to act as a brim. These two features together provide sufficient stiffness to maintain protection and visibility. The only suggestion I could make would be a consideration for position adjustability on the shoulder strap attachment points. I found that the hood would tend to pull down and back on my head. Perhaps this is a TerraFrame issue, as the elastic cinching where the pack body portion of the fly joins the hood tended to slide forward and back between the pack body, the frame, and the shoulder straps themselves. Overall no major complaints, this is a solid piece of kit.

No Drips
I own a backpacking poncho that covers me and my Mystery Ranch Glacier Pack. What I don't like is I sweaty easily and get just as wet with it on vs just walking through the rain. I have tried just a pack cover, but the water drips down my back between the pack. The Hooded Pack Fly does not allow the water from dripping down my back and I can stay cool enough to not drip with sweat. It has been a good solution for me. I recommend this hooded fly pack because of its design and quality of materials.

Keeps water off my back
Way better than other covers. The hood stops water from dipping in between your back and the pack.
