From the approach to the gear up to the retreat, the Mountain Hardwear Crag Wagon 60L Backpack is designed for optimal convenience throughout all three stages. The contoured frame and padded harness system keep our load stable and the carry comfy on the way in. When at the wall, the front U-zip lets us access our gear without having to blindly dig, and when we're packing up, we close up the front, stand this pack on its flat base to quickly slide our gear in and cinch the top closed. On our scramble out, the coated material and storm flap keep our gear protected from the rain we were hoping to outrun.

Great bag
Phenomenal pack. I needed something that has a ton of space, and this bag is it. My only criticisms/changes is that I wish it had a water bottle holder on the outside, and I wish the top strap fabric had a zipper pocket. A small brain would be nice, as the big zipper pocket gets filled quickly with crag essentials.

Great bag, could use a few tweaks.
One of the better crag bags i have ever had. some of the fabric is weak and not durable enough in a few spots. It wears out faster than it should in those spots. with that said i still prefer this bag to any other. i know i go way harder than the average weekend climber .

Crag slayer
Comfortable haul bag, lots of capacity. Able to pack all gear easily. Love the front access. No digging.

Great bag, room more small improvements
A great way to keep yourself organized at the crag. The full zipper makes access very easy. The addition of side straps would have been very nice, mainly to help keep the rope secured. The inside gear loops are the biggest reason I bought but do wish they were a little wider for more gear. A more stable bottom would have been very nice, the bag tends to just flop onto itself. Overall, good bag and happy with the purchase.

All the features I want; none I don’t
I got this to replace a MEC Cragalot 45 I was using. This bag is far more thoughtful and straightforward. The padding on the straps as hip belt is slim but comfortable… I’ve carried a full solo rack and two ropes on an hour-long approach and still been comfortable. The frame-panel prevents sharp items from digging into your spine. The full-zip side opening is unreal for getting at things quickly. I can’t say enough about this thing.

Best climbing pack
I bought the earlier model of this pack 4 years ago and it is the most durable pack I’ve ever owned. I’ve used it as a (small) haul bag on big walls, for multi-day climbing trips, and as a SAR bag and never had any issues. My only complaint is the securing system at the top of the pack - the metal piece broke after a few years of use, but I was able to buy my own clip to replace it. Love this bag!

It's no Muira 50, but it's close.
Pro: good support, large volume, hardy zipper Cons: front pouch is really the same volume as main compartment and anything there will be squished by contents of main compartment. There's not really a good place for a cell phone or sandwich so it won't get crunched. Straps are not included for the sides.

Wow
This bag exceeds expectations. It holds a ton of gear (e.g., climbing shoes, harnesses, draws, rope, and odds and ends). It’s nice to open it up and lay all your gear out. It also got rained on the other day and it dealt with the rain very well.

Fastest in and out
Whether you are an order freak and pack everything in perfect sequence, or you stuff everything as you find it, this duffle/crack backpack will serve you. Access bottom items without effort, carry small items in the huge outside pouch. It even has a rope tarp. Anchor points for attaching stuff on the sides. Rope sling on top. Materials are bombproof. Not as heavy as black diamond’s same pack. Well thought. Well designed.

Amazing bag for climbing
I really love my new cragging bag. It's very spacious, and the U zip in the front is super handy to access gear quickly. I'm a petite 5'3" and the s/m fits well, although I wish they made an sx.
